Maybe the announcement will be saturday the 16th of august at 3 o clock to co-inside with the premier league season kick off!

Thats just me being selfish by the way,football and u2 back at the same time. Ahhh heaven!!
 
I think the album is going to drop instantaneously. That would fit with them not attempting a big promotional boost this time around (although the press from the sudden digital release would be enormous) and also explain why the release feels so imminent. For the last few cycles, it seems like we got word of a new single and then had a few months until the album dropped whereas this just seems like it will materialize at any moment.

If that's their plan, then the completion of the video is probably the last step as they'll want to time the two together for the extra promotion. Otherwise, the album itself is already sitting on some hard drives waiting to drop.

It's funny, I was thinking not too long ago that they were going to revert back to their old way of promoting things to make that big statement... now I'm starting to second guess that.

Maybe... just maybe, they're going to let the music do the talking this time around?

I wish this was true so badly....but I'm not sure there's a good chance of it happening. Would love to eat these words though.

AND MAYBE the Super Bowl/Fallon thing was one of the greatest fake-outs in the history of the music industry. They are in it for the long con. :hmm::D

You might see some articles (like the one below, and a previous one from the Wall Street Journal) about this massive tour rehearsal facility in Pennsylvania, and how U2 was supposed to be the first client but "their album and tour have been postponed" according to Jake Berry, U2's longtime tour production manager.
Well, we checked in with Jake a couple nights ago and he said no, he never told the reporter that anything was postponed. He said the band decided they didn't need the facility now because the tour isn't happening until next year.

glad to see it's finally appearing(!!) to point to U2 announcing the single (or album??) really close to the release date or even just releasing it out of the blue!

god, I fucking hope so anyway it'd be the best way to turn everything round after this whole cold feet nonsense and the publicity from it would be unbelievable.
 
It's interesting that @U2 is starting to send messages to fans to NOT believe possible upcoming reports about an album and/or tour postponement. This is getting more and more absurd by the hour :lol:
