After seeing your post, I went on a FRANTIC search for my two GA tickets (since I haven't seen/needed them in a YEAR). I finally found the keys for my "lockbox" </algore'd> and got it open to find JUST my two GA tickets nestled inside....... :uhoh: :yell: :yikes:    :up::up:

Were you expecting something more?

Getting very excited :dancing: first time in GA and first concert ever for my daughter.

Awesome.

I'm taking my brother & it's going to be his first U2 concert. :hyper: I'm excited to show him why I'm such a U2 crackhead!

We'll be GA & will probably get there sometime between 11 & 12.

Anyone heard anything definite about when the lots open?

Lot S across from the Linc at Citizens Bank Park is always open. There are also so many unoffcial lots that I ams ure there will be no trouble parking.

Anyone familiar with Philadelphia subway prices? I'm taking a bus into 30th Street Station from NYC and was curious what the subway fare was.

Also, can anyone verify if this is the way to get to the Lincoln via subway (I've never been to Philadelphia before):
1) Market and Frankford line from 30th Street Station
2) Broad Street South Bound to City Hall
3) City Hall to AT&T station towards 69th St Transportation Center.

I'll be getting in to Lincoln around 2pm, so hopefully I'll see some Blue Crack Junkies in the GA line :)

I've never taken the subway in Philadelphia, so I can't really tell you from personal experience. I've taken the regional rails by SEPTA, which also runs the subway.

The SEPTA website is a really good source of information on the subway system. You can even do a Trip Planner. In your case, you want to travel from 30th St Station to the AT & T station (the station at the sports complex). You can change the time on the trip planner since I didn't know what time you're arriving at the 30th street station. It also gives you the fare ($2 or 1 token). There's a free transfer between 15th st station to City Hall station.

Can I remind ya now?:D
:D let's see, maybe I do need that pho tonight in Philly.
It may still be too early, they've become very efficient in assembling/disassembling that claw, I think it only takes them 4 days now.

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of approximately when U2 will take the stage. Is it usually at 9 p.m.or will it be later?

We need to coordinate with the babysitter and by the time we get get back home from work, get the baby settled and leave for the Linc, I'm afraid the opening act will be already finished or close to being finished.

I didn't want to miss U2's entrance, first song, etc

so would appreciate some info. regarding their timing based on recent shows.

^DM, most like 9ish.. Last night they came on I think a little early 8:50. And I think the latest would be 9:15.. But all the shows I have seen have been 9pm on the nose.

Just got this in my email for my RZ tix:

Hello from the U2 360° Tour!
After an overwhelmingly successful North American kick-off, we hope you're as excited as we are about U2's PHILADELPHIA concert and gearing up for their most innovative and ground-breaking show yet.

ATTENTION: Please refer to the following information regarding the collection process for your (RED) Zone ticket purchase.

Your (Red) Zone tickets and wristbands will be available for collection from the Red Zone Will Call located at the WEST BOX OFFICE, off 11th Avenue. It will be open from 12 PM,noon, day of your show: July 14th (please refer to map). Please ensure that you have sufficient photo ID along with your booking reference number to present upon arrival.

(Red) Zone 1 & 2 ticket holders enter at the SOUTH GATE. Lincoln Financial Field's gates open at approx. 5:00PM (time subject to change). (RED) Zone ushers will greet you upon arrival in the (RED) Zone designated on your concert tickets. Please refer to the map below which indicates the location of the two (RED) Zone areas at Lincoln Financial Field.

Please refer to the Stadium's webpage or phone for parking information. See you then!

In one or two shows they took the stage earlier than 9pm (like 8.50ish in East Lansing and Chicago) so yes, plan to be at your seats by that time. If you're driving, don't forget to account for possible traffic and walking time since you'll probably get a parking spot at one of the further lots if you show up that late.

You don't wannna miss Space Oddity (the song for their entrance). :)

8 more days!!!

I'll be looking for any of you GA'ers I met at Giants Stadium in 2009. What a blast!

Also, if anyone has information about exactly where/when to queue up for the GA line at the Linc, could you please post? I didn't see anything on the Linc's website or on U2.com.

Thanks!

The most common tailgating lot is the one between the Linc and CBP, but I'm sure there'll be tailgating in every lot.

Do you happen to know is the K lot a "reserved" lot at the Linc? Not sure can we park there without a pass-it doesn't seem to be a public lot. Also, the lots around Citizen bank park seem to have a no tailgating rule-does anyone know if that is true if you park there for events at the Linc?

K-lot is public. Not sure what they will charge for this event, though. I park there all the time for phils games and it IS a tailgating lot, at least it's the one official one that everyone does anyway. Usually all kinds of events and music going on in that one.....curious if the one man band (or whatever his name is) will show up ;)

Also, as previously stated, there are other non-official private lots like one right next to the K-lot on the other side of the street that people tailgate at too. The CBP lots will give you a hard time about tailgating, yes.

Yeah I'm keeping the potential traffic mess in mind. I'm hoping that by 7:30 or so, most of the rush hour would have ended and then I'd just have to deal with the traffic closer to the stadium.

I have Eagles season tickets so I'm very used to navigating around the stadium complex.

I know it'll be crowded but it couldn't get any more crazier than an NFL pregame circus.

So nothing yet at the stadium? And by the way, July 23rd is big. Real Madrid is coming to town.

And where will I be on July 23rd? Minneapolis!! My two fandoms colliding, and since the U2 show was announced last year while the soccer match was just announced a few months ago, it looks like I'll miss some of the World Cup champions visiting my very own city of Philadelphia! :grumpy:

You want to get to the Broad Street Line, which I believe is best accessed by Suburban Station. You can get to Suburban a couple different ways from 30th Street Station. My experience is from riding a regional rail that hits both (the R5, which may be called Thorndale now), so I don't know the specifics.

You take the Broad Street Line to get to the stadium, just head south, as the last stop is the Sports Complex in South Philly. Should be pretty straight forward. The fare is quite cheap, as I recall.

And for your benefit, everyone calls it "the Linc," not the Lincoln, hopefully that makes you sound like a knowledged out-of-towner.

It's public and they just charge you when you pull up, usually $15.

Getting antsy! :hyper:

Seeing Soundgarden the night before in Philly, so I should be in the GA line fairly early the next morning for U2. :D

What do you guys think about some clubby Fan Action ---- I have a vision of as many GAers as possible bringing glowsticks and lighting them up for Crazy Tonight. We can turn the pit into a club
