If I could... :shifty: I'd wear slippers to the concert.....

Edit: Actually, you know, if I could, I'd wear my pj's AND my slippers to the concert. Ultimate comfort. Not good for impressing guitarists or bassists...

That would be awesome.

Where is Jem? She and I were just talking about going lingerie shopping in Montreal the other day! :D

I've gone out in pj's and slippers once. For the midnight showing of the third Pirates movie. It was on my birthday and I'd just gotten a nice long nightgown and soft, cotteny sleep pants. My best friend at the time told me there was no way they'd let me into the theater in my PJ's. I think she was just too insecure to dare to be a geek in public. I went to the theater in my PJ's with red slippers on. I totally clashed, but with a nice blanket I was comfy and warm.

I'm still reading U2 by U2. My favorite line WAS "I thought The Edge had an extraordinary head." but Bono just topped that. "All I am saying is that we are, in fact, particularly well hung." :hyper::applaud:

I will be shunned if I say what type of shoes I wear, but they work for me and I have never got any blisters! I forgo nice shoes for comfort!

Sneakers for me! No other shoe makes sense for GA... mind you, I'm not into shoes anyway, comfort is my #1 priority. :D

I saw some girls in the pit in Perth with ridiculous 5-inch narrow heels... even if they didn't hurt themselves, they could hurt other people! :yikes:

Cookie jar enabling : shifty:

Ah ok I don't know why I had it in my mind you go to DC every year! They are fun, even with all the madness though. We've met a ton of people, but mostly we like the panels, and skip the organized meetings because yeah the lines are just too long. Sometimes you get lucky though. My favorite thing is finding the lesser known people who don't have 10 zillion people swarming around, and you get more time to just hang out and talk. I'm such a nerd I have pics of me with The Gorn from the Original Star Trek series... remember that alligator lizard thing that Kirk had to fight? Yeah the guy who played that guy. : reject: I also ripped off John DeLancie (Q from StarTrekTNG) once by accident. I got his pic and we were chatting for a while and I left without paying him for the pic. OOPS. I remembered on the way home, so the next day I went back and paid him and he pretended to give me the evil eye (at least I hope he was pretending! : lol: )
And have I mentioned running into Mr. twinkly blue eyes Josh Holloway (Sawyer-LOST) : drool: he looked down at me and smiled and yeah his eyes twinkled omg : love: : lmao:

ANYways... Chelsea said that in April they are coming out with River's sonic screwdriver which she will be needing for her costume, so she's excited.

Oops looks like my slow typing made me miss you. : wave: Seeya later.

I sometimes spend an hour replying, especially if I get distracted by something and wander off halfway through. *L* It's all good!

That cookie jar looks amazing! It's lucky I'm supposed to be saving money or I'd be very tempted.

Last time, I went to a panel with some of the cast from Farscape (not the main guy), and they're mostly Australians... I wanted to go up to them later and just say it was nice to hear a familiar accent, but I was too chicken... even when they were sitting around all alone at the signing desk and no one was talking to them... :reject: Maybe this time!

Of course I remember the Gorn! That's so cool! :) I saw a Mythbusters episode where they tried to make that cannon that Kirk did in the episode, and it failed utterly. *L*

And omg I love Q! That's hilarious... and very good of you to go back and give him the money! He shouldn't be giving you the evil eye for being nice. ;) Q and Picard always had great scenes and the best lines. I think he was at D*C in '07... I think I remember seeing him as part of the Trek panel. Riker and Dr Crusher were there too... Or Jonathan Frakes and Gates (?) McFadden, if I want to acknowledge that they're real people. ;)

I haven't actually seen Lost... :reject: Don't think I've seen a real eye-twinkle, either... :hmm:

For the Canadians:

Roll Up the Rim starts tomorrow :shifty:

I had to google this... I can't believe how big Tim Horton's seems to be over there!

Hooray! *Squees with you just for the hell of it* Feel good to get that out, eh?

*Tries it herself*

omgIlove"Community"/CraigFerguson/JoelMcHale/StephenColbertsqueee!

(That's hard to do, that kind of typing. I kept wanting to hit the space bar : lol:)

 I did too... in fact I had to go back afterwards and take all the spaces out cos I couldn't help myself.

Awesome. I've heard of "Firefly" (they actually made reference to it in last week's episode of "Community", interestingly enough), it does seem that fans of one are fans of the other, I've noticed. That can't be an easy thing to pull off, so it's neat to hear the show seems to have managed to do so fairly well given how long it's been on.

It's just such a shame that Firefly got shafted and cancelled so quickly... I don't understand how the network's producers couldn't see how awesome it was. It was some stupid reason they axed it too... I think it was rating pretty well for sci-fi, but not with the right demographic, or something ridiculous. *sigh*

Yeah, old-school special effects don't bother me at all. Like you said, given the technology they had at the time (which for them at that time, WAS state-of-the-art and brand new and "Oooh, ahhhhh" and all that), some of what they've managed to pull off is pretty impressive. Besides, again, sometimes less is more anyway. Special effects are fine and can really add to a scene, but regardless of the decade, I think they should be used sparingly. It lacks a certain special factor if the entire show/movie is made up of nothing BUT them, you know?

Yeah, special effects are worthless if there's no actual story behind them. They're just there to put you in the world of the show/movie/whatever and help to tell the story... they shouldn't be there just for their own sake.

Haha, exactly! Ah, hey, I can be pretty nerdy about certain things myself, so I get it, and I don't make fun of the sci-fi geeks. I know too many of them, and besides, if you like it, that's all that matters.

All kinds of nerds ftw. :hi5: :nerd:

I guess I need to get a thick skin. I am too nice!

You do actually. Some people are just so not worth your time, yet you keep forgiving them and letting them back in. You'll end up getting hurt or annoyed again, just tell them to fuck off and leave you alone. Problem solved. :D

Speaking of Montreal, I have a conundrum. WTF kind of shoes do you wear to a U2 concert?? When I go see local bands, I always wear heels, but there is no way I can survive 82 hours in GA line like that. In everyday-type-life, I wear flip-flops, but they are not especially good for dancing in a big crowd.

Converse for life. Even Edge agrees on that one.

As a general rule you may not want to get Canadians started on hockey  Take the US popularity of football or baseball, multiply it by 10 and spread it across a much larger (in land mass) country with a much smaller population...:lol:

This :applaud:

Go Sens!!!!!!!!! :cheer:

Put your number on your shirt in Montreal MTE!:shifty:

Runners. Just get a cute pair

Mine have my (RED) laces in them :shifty:

Are you saying I should bedazzle some Crocs and call it a day?

I pretty much HAVE to wear them. I have some medical problems and these are the only shoes I can be in for any length of time and not be in pain. I have worn the bottoms off 3 or 4 pairs already. I did 18 days in Disney without a blister. I don't have to worry about being pulled up on stage. I am too tall!:crack:

I have like two pairs of sneakers. :reject: One is a hideous pair of running shoes, the other is my Edge Converse. The Edge shoes would be the obvious choice, but they don't match many things. I'll probably have to wear them at least once, though, just so they can "meet their maker".

My go-to flip-flops are Crocs. Shhh. ;)

I am sooooo sleepy, y'all! I miss sleep.

I can't wear converse to stand in all day and night - no arch support and with insoles they don't fit right - I have really wide feet. I have an AWESOME pair of boots that give me an extra inch or two and are super duper comfortable but 2 years ago (after 10 years) they split. I try not to wear them anymore in hopes that they'll last until this summer. I've never found another pair of concert shoes as good as these and doubt I ever will. And yes, Bono, I can run in them, so don't let that keep you from pulling me up on stage to run during Streets or COBL!

:giggle: That'd be pretty awesome. I'm very much planning to bring my Edge shoes as well.

:uhoh: we're like day and night. Pretty much the only shoes I have are Converse. Mind you, that's about 8 pairs of them now. :reject: I could make a rainbow!

Yeah with wide feet they're a bad fit. If boots fit then go for it. I can't wear boots to save my life, they barely exist in my size(elephant) plus I've super small feet.

MTE, didn't you say you wanted to revise the PLEBA xtranormal video? :hmm: That could keep you occupied for awhile. Or you could peruse the youtube thread - that's always good for an hour or so.

Shoe twins FTW! :hi5: I need some black Converse, but they just never seem to be high enough on my list of things to buy to actually make it home!

:hi5: That's the brilliant thing about Converse. There's always a colour that suits you.

:shifty: Which didn't stop me to get three different blue pairs, but hey.
