PGP: Wanting Some Mother-Suckin Rock & Roll in Montreal!!

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I'm listening to AB and "UTEOTW" just came on.... and I actually didn't recognize it for the first several seconds. I'm so used to the superiorly awesome live version now, I forget how much it has evolved over the years! And I don't think I ever realized the original lyric was "We ate the food, we drank the wine."

I'm noticing :D! Hey, rant away to your heart's content, I find it entertaining.

As a general rule you may not want to get Canadians started on hockey  Take the US popularity of football or baseball, multiply it by 10 and spread it across a much larger (in land mass) country with a much smaller population...:lol:

Yay for random connections! *Starts singing "It's A Small World"*

I vote for finding a YouTube of Cee Lo's "Fuck You" and posting that as the response.

I approve this suggestion  :).

 So I've heard!

It always amuses me to watch anyone get so riled up about sports. But I guess it's no different than when I get riled up about things I'm passionate about, so...

MTE, haha, I've had that happen before, too. I also find that if there's a live version of a song I hear where they throw in whole new lyrics, sometimes I'll be so used to that version that when I listen to the studio one I keep expecting that line to pop up.

Then he's not worth your time, and just ignore him. Try not to let someone's random rudeness get to you, otherwise you'll never survive on the internet.

Easier said than done sometimes, but still.

I guess I need to get a thick skin. I am too nice!

I love how Bono treats lyrics like a living organism, always growing and changing! I love that "I want to take shelter from the poison rain" somehow became "I want to dance, dance dance in the pouring rain (or hurricane, depending on his mood)." They're such totally different images.

UGH - I'm listening to the files GG sent - from the "live" feed of the show from Friday *dies* I'm so pissed I couldn't hear this as it was happening! It's AWESOME - great quality. I can haz July plz.

BTW, by "growing and changing lyrics", I obviously mean "Oh crap, I don't remember the words, let's make something up."

I remember getting into a heated debated on the road from Vegas to Pasadena with a bunch of Blue Crackers about "There's three things I need you to know." VS "There's a few things I need you to know." and whether or not it was a mistake or intentional.

 Fully agreed.

Another musician I love, Neil Finn, does that with lyrics a lot, too. It really does add a whole other twist on a well-known song, changes it with the times...it's fun when they do that.

Of course :D.

Is that Mediafire link from a few pages back the link to the recent U2 show? If so, I'm off to break my "hold off on live U2 during current tour" rule to download and here this, 'cause damnit, I need a taste, I'm curious.

What happened to being spoiler-free buddies?!

Just kidding. I'm glad you're enjoying the show. It was amazing!

Have you gotten to Edge's *Magnificent* guitar moment yet? :reject:

I was just sort of skipping around.
Well, Thora, EVERYONE ELSE got to listen to it! *whining* and my friend was texting me saying "the new stuff is so good" so I kinda had to. I haven't listened to the whole thing. I think I'm gonna upload it to my ipod and do a couple nice long workouts tomorrow and Tuesday.

:giggle: It was definitely worthwhile.

But now I'm going back to my cave of knowing nothing.

Hello everyone. I'm back from y Star Trek meet up. We went for Greek food after so I've officially tried Greek food. Or rather, a bastardized version of it. How is everyone?

Mmmm... Greek food! I recently discovered a great little hole in the wall Greek place in my city. I'll definitely be going back again soon.

I'm doing good. Just had a very nice and relaxing weekend. I did pretty much nothing. It was awesome.

BTW, I totally think the one guy there was hitting on me. I texted Drea and said as much and she asked if it was an issue. I still don't know. I still don't know if he was hitting on me....

So I'm guessing nobody walked away with digits?

No one asked me for my phone except one of the organizers so if I got lost, I could call for directions and a young woman who said she'd come over and hang out over pizza and games. I still don't know if he was hitting on me. I'm totally clueless about these sorts of things.

I'm always awful at that, too. Men should be required to wear a sign that say "I find you attractive!"
