I love my reconditioned Bose headphones. Even reconditioned (or maybe just repackaged after someone returned them), they were close to 200 American clams. (That might be 1,000,000 Canadian clams.)

Pssst, our money is worth more than yours

And on the topic of headphones:

I took mofo's advice from many months back and got a pair of Grado SR60s. The are quite awesome indeed, but strictly for home use. Also, only one store in Toronto carries them (Bay Bloor Radio) and they go for $120

I've actually never seen them in a store, so you're one up on me there. Agreed on home use. Since the back is open by design to improve the sound flow, people around you can hear quite a bit. I've always wanted to take them to work, but haven't for that reason.

One of my friends has the SR225's (he's actually a forum member, Audiophile), and they are crazy awesome.

I do like my Grado SR80s; they sound great for home use. Unfortunately after about an hour or so, they're not that comfortable and I keep adjusting them on my ears. But they sound great, so yay.

That's the problem with my Sony MDR V150s. I love the sound quality, but they get really uncomfortable after a while.

I've got a pair of SR225s, and they are, indeed, crazy awesome - especially for pop music. But I usually end up listening to my Sennheiser HD595s instead, not because they sound better (I'd give the edge to the 595s for imaging, but a slight nod to the Grados for impact and overall clarity), but because they are suuuuuper comfy, whereas the Grados get a little annoying after a while.

I used to be waaaay into headphones. Had a couple headphone amps (one tubed that sounded sweet), probably five pairs that I listened to on a regular basis, too. Now I probably listen to headphones maybe once a month.

"So, like, yeah, I was standing on a hill staring into the sky, and...an eagle came to me in the night and said he came to take me home, so I grabbed on and we flew away together, and that's why I left Genesis."

Something dawned on me tonight. Two of my all-time favorite bands have threads that are completely dominated by Laz, Shouter, and myself: Super Furry Animals and Big Star.

I'm thinking this might be a coincidence though, since an amalgamation of our favorite bands would result in an indie jangle-pop Japanese hipster collective with trucker staches that exclusively play in dumpsters. And that's no good for anyone. Plus, I would have to start listening to those two, and that, too, would not end well.

In other news, I'm really liking Yuck. They sound like Yo La Tengo and Pavement, but with absolutely no specific personality of their own. Regardless, they sound like Yo La Tengo and Pavement:

YouTube - Yuck - Georgia

I remember them spoofing that on In Living Color. The song was called Promise of a Thin Me

Somewhere Jared Leto is wondering why he didn't stay with acting.

only makes that one scene from american psycho that much more appealing.

hey paul!

one of my friends goes by paul on teh internetz (ok, in our guild in w.o.w) because there was already a jay and to eliminate confusion he figured he'd just go by his middle name. having known him as jay for a lot longer than paul, i always think of axes and/or huey lewis & the news anytime someone says "hey paul" on vent.

that movie and fight club are the only movies i can think of that i really liked based off books i absolutely hated.

I was going to go buy some laptop accessories today, but instead I think I'm going to stay home and make an awesome 80s compilation

I'm just in the beginning stages, but FYC's I'm Not The Man I Used to Be and Johnny Come Home are for sure
