I'm just about to go through the Radiohead thread, but I've seen glimpses of posts on my iphone. And I've seen "NLOTH" about five times. :banghead:

I stopped looking at setlists midway through the European leg before the shows I went to. I had an extraordinary time. There's a couple of posters in that forum that I just can't believe. One poster in particular looks at the setlists after every show (I'm guilty of this too, but as other sane people here have said, I couldn't give a fuck if they played IALW again) and then posts a fucking essay about how much it sucks. I asked said posted, don't you get sick of this? And I got attacked! I might feel a bit weird sometimes that I've got 18k posts on a U2 forum, but at least I'm not like that.

Scumbo, can I just say that I hope you never pull a NSW as long as I'm posting, because I like you and your posts a hell of a lot. I multiquoted about six or seven of your posts in the Radiohead thread and then just ended up deleting them all because all I had to add was "".

A lady I worked with today nonchalantly told me she saw Popmart, and she isn't even a U2 fan. Just a gig she decided to hop on over to. I had a sad :(.

Popmart was my first U2 show and I was a huge fan at the time (I wasn't super fat, I just mean that I really liked them). Anyway, I was there with 4 or 5 of my friends and after it was done, we just sat there in silence and watched them begin pulling down the set. It was quite a show

She said it was one of the most amazing shows she's ever seen.

But then she told me what the greatest show she'd ever seen was, and as it turned out, we'd both been there at the same time: Roger Waters The Wall at the United Center. Don't know if we saw the same night or not, but she definitely said it was the greatest live concert she'd ever seen. In fact, she went so far as to say the show changed her, which was pretty cool, because I left it feeling that way a bit myself.

But the greatest show I've ever seen was Bruce Springsteen in St. Louis in 200...8? I think it was.

Had to get some new headphones tonight. Still don't have the money to take the big leap into super awesome headphones, but I picked up these:

Amazon.com: Sony MDR-V150 Monitor Series Headphones with Reversible Earcups: Electronics

and these:

Amazon.com: Sony MDR-XD100 Stereo Headphones: Electronics

The latter is pretty nice, crisp sound, I'm just afraid about the potential for sound bleed, they don't fit too snuggly. Now to try the others (via my tried and true method of playing "Radio Nowhere" with all new headphones I purchase)

I've been wanting to get good headphones for a long time.

Let me know what you think of these, Ash.

And I would appreciate other suggestions from anyone else, if possible. Keep in mind, and this is a bit of personal info, that I have approximately 40% hearing loss in my right ear. So I sometimes am fearful that there is a lot of nuance in songs that I cannot discern, things that don't immediately jump out but everyone else can hear but me. Not sure if that makes sense.

Anyway, I'm looking for headphones that can enhance that for me.

I don't know a lot about headphones, I wish I knew more, I love them a lot. If you're looking for the lower price range, I have yet to find a pair of Sony's I haven't loved, especially their in-ear headphones (even their ear buds). I didn't buy a new pair of in-ears this time because I've been wanting to try more over-ear headphones.

first of all,. also, popmart was also my first u2 show. i would've loved to see them during zoo tv but i didn't go to concerts at that point so i had no idea where to find this stuff out or anything, so instead i got to be insanely jealous of my aunt who saw them twice, including the awesome dc show.

aaaaanyway yeah, first show. it was nice to see them when they were still in that 90s mindset where the shows had to be over-the-top. plus since it was before the internet really exploded (i remember at this time all i could do for the internet was sneak into my dad's office on weekends and use it then so i didn't use it a lot) so i had no idea what to really expect. i'd seen the year in pop special so i at least knew a little, but really it was nice to not go there knowing what i was very likely to hear and be disappointed by hearing it.

if i had a time machine and went back and re-saw my popmart show, i'd probably not like it as much as i do now. i feel bad in this day and age since there's live streams, twitter, etc. now it's so easy to find out every solitary song and snippet they play on every show. i'm not sure where i was going with this, but yeah. i liked popmart. and if you remove the pip from an olive it diminishes its flavour.

Cross-posting this here and in the Hip-Hop Purists forum because people need to see this OFWGKTA swag on Jimmy Fallon.

lawn gnomes and zombies? cool.

i might just be tired, but i couldn't understand any of that at all. i tried, because overall i actually liked the way it sounded. but honestly, save about 10 words throughout the entire thing, if you told me it wasn't in english i'd believe you.

While on the subject of phones, I've recently realized I know absolutely no one's phone numbers. Cell phones have ruined me that way. The only numbers I still know off the top of my head are few numbers from my home town when I was a kid.

Apparently Neutral Milk Hotel is going to do some shows this year.

yeah, the only phone number i actually remember at all is my home phone number from when i was 6-14, which is probably only because i needed to remember it in the event i found myself stranded somewhere and needed to use a payphone to call home to beg my mom to come get me. i was really paranoid about getting stranded without a ride home when i was a kid. otherwise, if i am to give someone else my number now i a) tell them to give me theirs so i can just call it to their caller ID or b) need to look it up on my phone.

We watched
Doggystyle-censored.jpg
tonight.

I feel we would have enjoyed it more when we were 16.

And the Philly show is one of the last ones. I come here for posts about new albums coming out anyway, so it's not like I'd cut Interland out for U2 since that's not what I used it for.

to take mofo's lack of setlist knowledge one step further, had i not run into this conversation in this thread i wouldn't even know u2 were on tour right now. don't get all cobbler and not show up around here for a while, cos that would suck. u can dooo it! i also trust that you're gonna have a good time regardless, unless they decide to play staring at the sun on a 1.5 hr loop.

in other news, i tried listening to that sloan song but found myself trying to ignore it til i realized wait, i can just make it go away entirely. i tried to like sloan a few years ago and failed. still no luck, apparently.

in other, other news, the kid i worked with last night found fear factory's cover of "i will follow" on my ipod and 1) i had no idea that they'd ever covered that 2) i had no idea that i had it on there 3) i had no idea that it actually did not suck.

yeah, that would suck if he did that. even if i was busy being phantom-like myself with my comings and goings around here, i'd definitely take note and be sad.

I can decipher a good portion of it, but the song was also heavily censored for TV, and those are the lyrics that sound a lot more muffled to me.

Anyway, here's the uncensored version:
[Intro: Tyler]
Nigga had the fuckin' nerve to call me immature
Fuck you think I made Odd Future for?
To wearin' fuckin' suits and make good decisions?
Fuck that nigga, Wolf Gang

[Verse 1: Tyler]
Who the fuck invited Mr. I Don't Give a Fuck
Who cries about his daddy in a blog because his music sucks? (I did!)
Well, you fuckin' up, and truthfully I had enough
And fuck Rolling Papers, I'm a rebel, bitch, I'm ashin' blunts (Sorry)
Full of shit, like I ate that John
Come on kids, fuck that class and hit that bong
Let's buy guns and kill those kids with dads and mom
With nice homes, 41k's, and nice ass lawns
Those privileged fucks gotta learn that we ain't takin' no shit
Like Ellen Degeneres clitoris is playin' with dick
I'm jealous as shit, cause I ain't got no home meal to come to
So, if you do I'm throwin' fingers out screamin' "fuck you"
I got ten of these Kennedy's
Not Dom, but if I was a Dahm, I would be Jeffery
'preme hat the color of a leprechaun with leprosy
I'm fuckin' 'bout it, 'bout it, like I'm Master P in '96
It's fuckin' immaculate, they way your daughter smackin' dicks
Surprised she hasn't taked the nasty dick inside her alley you
The Golf Wang hooligans, is fuckin' up the school again
And showin' you and yours that breakin' rules is fuckin' cool again
I'm goin' harder than a midget jumpin' over me
Chronic youth, I'm shovin' blunt wraps in bitches ovaries
Punches to the stomach where that bastard kid supposed to be
Fuck a mask, I want that ho to know it's me, ugh

[Hook]
Wolf Gang, Wolf Gang
It's the Wolf Gang, Wolf Gang
It's the Wolf Gang, it's the Wolf Gang
It's the Wolf Gang, Golf Wang
It's the Wolf Gang, Wolf Gang
Wolf Gang, triple six crew
It's the Wolf Gang, Golf Wang
Wolf Gang kill them

[Verse 2: Hodgy]
My love is gone for you mommy, you could ride in hearses
I'm sick in the brain dumb bitch, can you nurse this?
You told me life would never, ever, ever get this perfect
Then you smoke a J of weed, and take his kids to the churches
Uh, fuck church, they singin' and the shit ain't even worth it
In the choir, whores and liars, scumbags and the dirt, bitch
You told me God was the answer
When I ask him for shit, I get no answer, so God is the cancer
I'm stuck in triangles, lookin' for my angel
Kill me with a chainsaw, and let my balls dangle
Triple six is my number, you can get it off my Tumblr

[Hook]

[Verse 3: Hodgy]
It was hilarious, well it ain't fuckin' funny now
I'll push this fuckin' pregnant clown into a hydrant stuck in the ground
I step through the stomach, replace the baby with some fuckin' pounds
"My baby daddy shoot bricks, the nigga also shoot rounds"
Cause if I shoot blanks, oops, thanks
I'm right back in it dead yummy and her mildew stank, uhh

[Tyler]
Free Earl, that's the fuckin' shit
And if you disagree, suck a couple pimple-covered dicks
Um, Wolf Gang, that's the fuckin' clique
Golf Wang kill them all nigga, triple six
Fuck 2DopeBoyz, all them niggas bitches
We don't need y'all, The Fader's who we really fuckin' with, bitch

[Outro: Tyler]
And we don't fuckin' make horrorcore, you fuckin' idiots
Listen deeper than the music before you put it in a box

I just learnt that David Bowie wrote "Lust for Life." Why was the guy so keen on giving away such great songs?

Bowie also wrote two other songs on that album by himself, and collaborated with others (not Iggy) on four more.

And he co-wrote everything on The Idiot.

At least Lou Reed wrote his own shit when Bowie helped him out with production.

1. Take a time machine

2. Experience U2 ZooTV live

3. Freeze time

Restart reboot yourself

Sorry to mislead. I was saying that people posting things like "I wish they sounded just like they did on such and such album" was one of the reasons I became super frustrated with Everything You Know is Wrong.

Grado Labs, Inc.

Hand made, and ugly as hell, the SR60's are probably the best pair of headphones you can get for the price (about $79 now I think). They unfortunately keep becoming more and more popular though, and the price has raised by about $20 in the last 4 years because people were willing to pay. Go to the link and read all the reviews from various Audiophile magazines and websites. They've won awards galore. The SR80's are supposedly very similar to the 60's, but with a bit more bass for $20 more. One thing we've unfortunately all become accustomed to in the last few decades is for headphones to do nothing but punish your ears with bass, which is the exact opposite of what a good hi-fi set of headphones do. Or you can splurge and pay more for a super expensive pair of Grados as well (prices go up to about $1,700 for their best pair....) Having bought 4 or more pairs of headphones in the $60 to $150 dollar range (and probably have a dozen or more laying around my place under that price), my Grado's kill the rest in overall sound quality. The detail you pick out is crazy, and you actually get that "sound stage" effect as well, where specific instruments seem to be coming in from different locations, etc.

BSS..... right now!

Lucky bastardo.

and no one lieks teh emoz.

Somewhere Jared Leto is wondering why he didn't stay with acting.
