Yeah she only became drinking legal this year at 21, but she hasn't been in any hurry to go out. Both of them would rather stay home and watch TV. And oh yeah we had a blast with my mom there. It's known as San Diego's premiere gay bar/restaurant/hot spot. Brunch was great but we want to go back some night for the cabaret show.

Sarah didn't even have her first drink till 3 months before she bee came legal. Despite living with me. She's just not that much of a drinker. However, I have seen her and her friends get tipsy a few times, and it's kind of hilarious.

Well, perhaps she learned it from tv?

I've never liked Walk on that much. sure it's a good song, but that's all. I love Kite, Beautiful Day is good. Elevation, I prefer the single version rather than the album one but I don't mind either.. now what else am I forgetting.

Yeah, it's really strage. I guess it's because Bono doesn't sing it like he's sick of it anymore(like last tour) and that little guitar solo he does in the beginning is really nice.

OSC, I don't know, it took a long time to grow on me. But now I find myself randomly hearing parts of that song in my head. It's quite strange.

Nope not the drag shots, though those are enjoyable. I'm talking about the shots where they're actually playing, Bono looks amaaaazing to the point of like major distraction.

My kids are the same. I make awesome strawberry margaritas at home and chelsea never wants alcohol in hers even though I'm always like but they taste sooo much better with it !!

Sheesh you guys are all so innocent. Makes me feel bad that I pretty much grew up with wine and beer. I got little sips on my birthday or when we were on holidays in France, while my parents were tasting wine.

And then there's the experimental phase with schoolkids when we were 13. Nobody ever cared me cause I was already quite tall and looked much older.

But at least I can say I've never been drunk.

i don't mind listening to elevation once in a while, because it takes me back 10 years which is kinda fun...once in a while.

i only express my rage about it online, because if someone in real life asked me what i think of elevation and if pushed for a reason why i dislike it, i'd look like an idiot if i said "well, i only really hate it because they played it both fucking nights in brussels!!".

thank you internet for allowing irrational rage to exist worldwide.

i prefer almost any live version of sunday bloody sunday over the studio version. the random violin just...well, i don't even know.

i've found the same thing. i got to a point last yea where i'd overdone myself on the whole u2 thing, then i saw them live and i remembered they are actually still pretty good, regardless of decision making.

I find that any of my likes/dislikes of U2 songs have to do proportionally with how much they're played or how much I'm exposed to them. Too much, and we go through a break-up period, ala SBS, currently.

alcohol was never kept a secret around the house. if we wanted some (within reason, of course), then we'd get to try it.

removed all of the mystery around it, so there was no desire to race out on or around my 18th to get drunk.

then i inhaled a bottle of wine at some point during university and it all went from there.

thank god summer's coming and it legitimises drinking beer again.

But I've seen her a bit more intoxicated than that. A couple of years ago she had a couple of her bffs from elementary and high school stay over. They got into my rum, mixed a few drinks, and used half the bottle! The one girl fell off her chair early in the night. I kept a close eye on them after that.

And then a few times at school. She'll call me and say "oh hai mom, I'm fine." And then I hear boisterous laughter in the background, and I know what's going on...cause I'm smart that way.

Like GG I was allowed alcohol at home on occasions and holidays. So European. When I was 15 my mum would let me drink at friends houses ( probably knew we'd do it anyway so we were just told to be careful and do it inside. ) This relaxed approach meant I never felt it was a bad thing to do so therefore never went mad and off the rails like kids who drink cider in the park.
