I've heard that at my grocery store before as well, but I got to enjoy this at the grocery store tonight...

YouTube - peter cetera - glory of love

Wowza, Cetera is both hilarious and terrifying at the same time in that video.

I know all the lyrics to way too many songs. This is one of them. I don't even know how shit like that happens.

I'm lolling at laz's post following ElMel's instead of mofo's (I can only assume that's who that comment was directed to).

I see how it is. How many more angry fans will be disowning Mercy? HOW MANY MORE???

I heard an obscure U2 song somewhere recently. I can't remember when or what it was. My best guess is God Part II in a local convenience store. It was something like that.

I don't like the Blige version but I do LOVE the way some interlanders hate it with every fiber of their being.

Honestly, I enjoy it. Not sure why.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble about Magnificent, but it's not a big surprise you hear it on the radio. Having worked in a restaurant that uses Muzak for the last six years, I can tell you that they have that song on HEAVY rotation.

I'm not a big fan of Magnificent. The intro's cool and the chorus is solid, but the verses are boring and Edge's solo is way too weak when it should soar.

Speaking of radio, and jobs ...

My first job was working in a mom-and-pop restaurant in my small hometown. They always had the local country music station playing. Whatever. It was dreadful, but there were worse things about the job.

Except for Sunday mornings, when for the entire morning, the country station played nothing but polka music. It was a relief when at noon they went back to plain old country music.

I did not see the end of this anecdote coming, and I just had a very joyful little laugh there.

When I was working at an ice cream parlor, we used to play the radio, and on Sunday's my higher up would play the country station, and I only ever got any enjoyment out of it for one hour before we closed when the country version of AT40 would come on, as hosted by Jeff Foxworthy. That was enough to make life a little better.

...So you're saying that hearing Magnificent on the radio would not please you?

I have to say, I left when there were 900 posts and I spent the last few minutes catching up.

I haven't enjoyed reading a thread as much as I have this one over the last few days in quite some time. Too long, actually.

Sometimes we get a nice mix in here of people, topics, banter, etc.

I also like when someone who's not regularly in here adds some spice to the proceedings. Or, if not spice, love for the Chicago Bulls. Whatever.

There are three vocalists who sound very similar to me. It might just be the reverb. But Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), and Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) all remind me of each other. And I love it.
