( Long Island is big- about 90 miles plus! On it's western-most sections that's where Queens <Northward> (site of World Fairs in the ?30's & 60's), and Brooklyn <southward> are!

To answer GG's question from yesterday, the weather in December in Aus is usually some form of warm to hot. Of course, in Melbourne you can never tell and it'll possibly be cold and raining, but in Brisbane heat/humidity is pretty much guaranteed. Maybe a monsoon if we're unlucky. *L*
Not sure about Perth, I think it's about the same latitude as Melbourne.

Will have to pack ponchos and sunscreen.

I have no idea.

The radio station I usually listen to doesn't play U2, and I'm not a TV-watcher, so I've managed to miss any and all U2 appearances on Aussie media this year. But my experience is that a lot of radio DJs are idiots, so that probably explains the Breathe thing. *L*
One rock station plugged NLOTH really hard right up to the point when the album came out, and then it kinda sank without a trace. Boots got a very mixed reception, from what I heard...

But of course now that they're touring, the radio probably loves them again and will start playing NLOTH songs and call it "the new U2 album" or something. *L*

A few months ago, I actually heard a DJ on the "classic hits" station hanging shit on NLOTH for not selling very well (cue statistical rant about how ALL album sales have slumped in recent years and NLOTH did very well, all things considered); and guess which station I heard playing an ad promoting the tour the other day?? With the Crazy remix playing in the background, no less. This station doesn't play anything less than 10 years old, and they're happier with '60s/'70s/'80s stuff.
... I was amused.

(On the other hand, another radio station has been playing things like IWF and Gloria and In God's Country and a live version of SBS that isn't from UABRS, so they must have a U2 fan in their playlist department!)

I wasn't a fan when ZooTV was here (and declined an invitation from a friend to see it with her), and I was just becoming a fan when PopMart came, but I was barely aware of the tour, had no money or transport, and I honestly don't know what I would have made of PopMart at that tender stage of my fandom anyway.

I reckon you're right. They may have held back on the 4th single so they could promote this part of the tour... by the time they got here for Vertigo, it might as well have been the U218 tour, and I think New Zealand only got 3 songs from Bomb. At least we got LAPOE too.

Yes, might be a sign of setlisty things to come (back)... I am curious about this slightly different version of NLOTH that they played recently too, but haven't had a chance to listen yet.

Well Edge played NLOTH with an acoustic guitar and Bono didn't play his at all, Larry and Adam didn't come in til later, so it was semi-sort-of-kind-of-u2 can't make up their mind acoustic.

Gg will go to battle though to prove that it was not acoustic.
