....actually.....no. :reject:

It was one of the select few of their songs I seem to like.

dude, don't start going soft on me, you're one of the few people on here who hasn't drank the Wilco Kool-Aid

If it makes you feel better, I heard a live version of 'I'm The Man Who Loves You' on the radio yesterday, and I seriously started laughing at the end when you could hear the crowd cheering for the performance. I would have done the exact opposite had I been there.

moving right along... I saw a U2 360 tour Blackberry commercial before "Bruno" yesterday.

Is it okay if I like Wilco a lot? Does that mean that I've drunk the Kool-Aid? Or do I have to think they're ZOMG BEST THING EVER in order for you to accuse me of that?

It does :hi5:

I haven't.

Same here.

:hi5: x2

:hmm:

Jesus, Etc. is the song I was listening to earlier that I like quite a bit.

Beautiful Day was playing at Jimmy Johns during lunch today. We were done eating, but I said we had to stay until the song was over.

How was Bruno?

As I said in the Bruno thread, to call it borderline gay porn would be insulting to gay porn. I keep trying to figure out if he's saying something really important about gay stereotypes and if so, how to verbalize exactly what that is, or if he's just in it for shock value. Definitely some hilarious stuff in it but most of it was like the Borat wrestling scene with the fat guy but a lot worse. My date said he'd pick the movie next time. :reject:

lol, how was the Bono cameo? Was he OK?

I thought that whole scene was kind of funny but a little weird. Both he and Sting (and especially Sting) looked like they weren't sure about the whole thing. Snoop Dogg was the best.

So the guy I'm seeing who said he'd pick the next movie has picked Harry Potter. Great, I get to be the dirty girl who dragged him to Bruno and he gets to be all Harry Potter. :grumpy:

I have a friend who's ditching work to go see HP. He even showed me his costume that he's wearing to the show. I should've gotten a picture for future blackmail purposes.

Ice, your only rivers run cold.
These city lights, they shine as silver and gold.
Dug from the night, your eyes as black as coal.

Walk on by, walk on through.
Walk till you run and don't look back
For here I am.

Carnival, the wheels fly and the colours spin through alcohol.
Red wine that punctures the skin.
Face to face in a dry and waterless place.

Walk on by, walk on through.
So sad to besiege your love oh hang on.

Stay this time, stay tonight in a lie.
I'm only asking, but I, I think you know.
Come on take me away, come on take me away
Come on take me home, home again.

And if the mountains should crumble
Or disappear into the sea
Not a tear, no not I.

Stay this time, stay tonight in a lie.
Ever after is a long time.
And if you save your love, save it all, save it all
Don't push me too far, don't push me too far.
Tonight, tonight.

i'm actually getting ready to post you a letter. it's simply addressed to douchebag because the whole world knows i mean you, and inside i've handwritten "douchebag" multiple times, just small enough that your ancient eyes can't read it, so you'll need to go and find your glasses which are actually just on top of your head.

douchebag.

I'm the least snooty fan here, Ian, so let's get that straight.

Do you actually want an answer to that question?

you're right, i'll give you that.

go for it. i'm sure you really want to. besides, according to everyone in the setlist parties who haven't heard any tour audio u2 are past it and are complete rubbish. i'm waiting for you to confirm this myth.

I enjoyed all six shows. Were they perfect? Nope. Would I like better set list variety? Of course. Do I expect that, at all, from U2? No. Any die-hard that attends multiple shows knows just what they are in for.

Hearing Ultra Violet and Electrical Storm are real treats for me, and of course, hearing The Unforgettable Fire is beyond sublime. The first night, I was in shock, the 2nd show, hearing it again confirmed that it would have a nightly presence, and the shock was gone and was replaced by bliss. I cannot put it into words what it means to me to hear it.

So, yeah, overall, really enjoyed the shows, liked hearing the new stuff, love the remix of Crazy Tonight (it has to be experienced in person, listening to an MP3 or on Youtube does not do it justice), Unknown Caller is the standout of all the new tracks for me....Sunday Bloody Sunday sounds great, and it's a song I had really gotten tired of.....Streets is a hell of a lot better than last tour.....songs like Desire and Angel of Harlem are fun to hear/sing along to.....Pride remains amazing on the album and horribly boring for me Live....In a Little While was great, Stuck I can do without......

The trip itself, for anyone that cares, was amazing...seeing the shows was fun and all, but exploring Europe for 16 days was a real gift....happy to be back, but, I had an amazing time.
