friday vs monday, ny vs boston still doesn't explain why you can still pull up 10 GAs. very very weird. I do wonder as someone said earlier if somebody didn't accidentally hit an extra zero when they went to release some tickets. 10,000 vs 1000. :yikes:

Because the scalpers have swiped them all. Giants 2 is on a Friday.
Yeah yeah, I was speaking rhetorically. I also think that Muse as support doesn't help -- they sold out MSG on their last tour.

There will be a drop for Giants; it's just a question of timing.

Unless you get super lucky or are willing to camp out for 24 hours, your lower level seats are probably better.

exactly...i wouldnt be able to camp out early. Right now i have my choice of front corner of stadium or back of stadium... so I should breathe & be happy. :cute:

Gosh, what would happen IF that was the case??? Alot of upset fans! I think they would have caught on by now....its been HOURS now!

All GAs for every venue, whether its Charlottesville, Atlanta, Tampa, or wherever, have sold out within a matter of minutes of going on sale, and the only reason they weren't all gone in 60 seconds is that ticketmaster makes some people wait so their system can keep up.

It's got nothing to do with Giants being on a Friday and Gillette on a Monday.

Seriously! All GAs everywhere else sold out basically immediately! And yet a seemingly unlimited amount of GAs has been available for Boston 2 for the past 6 or even 7 HOURS? That just does not sound right.

I agree, it's very strange. Maybe it's because the general public stopped looking, and the news hasn't spread beyond fan sites?

Can someone explain to me the price level thing at Giants Stadium? Last week for the presale I got 4 tixx in Section 201 Row 5 at $55.00 each. Today I got 8 tixx in Section 328 Row 21 at $95.00 each.

201 is technically behind the stage while 328 is not. Whether the cheap seats behind the stage prove to be a bargain or a ripoff is one of the great pre-tour mysteries.

Really? That definitely factored in into my decision. I'd rather take Friday off to drive up to (close to) NYC, spend all day queuing for GA, get a little buzz, chat with other fans, stand all night at the concert listening to Muse and U2, and then have the whole weekend to recover from stiff joints and backaches and hangover. How can I do that on a Monday show? Plus I have to drive back to Philly in time to make it to work by Tuesday... I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought the Giants show is far more lucrative than Gillette.

Oh, and remember, only Chicago, Toronto, Boston and NJ have 2 shows so far. So we can't really compare the sales from the first show of the other venues to the second night sales... Soldier Field and Giants stadium are also a bit more reachable by public transportation rather than Gillette. Thus it may be a less attractive option for our compatriots from across the pond to come over and see U2 at Gillette. All these can factor in to why we still have loads of tickets available.

I do admit it's a bit strange that this is unlike the other venues. But the pace of this sale is actually what I expected if all tickets are released to the public. What is the GA capacity at each stadium? On average? 10,000? No matter how many U2 fans are out there, it's a bit strange to have that many tickets sold out within minutes of the sale. Really.

I dunno though...I noticed in all the pre-sale reports that, unlike most everywhere else, more people seem to be opting for seats at Gillette for some unknown reason, the good seats sold out before GAs in the U2.com pre-sale.

It just strikes me as funny... Last week people were complaining that the GA tickets were gone within the first 2 minutes of the sale. Today people are suspicious when plenty of GA tickets are available during general sale. ??? Can we make up our minds, what do we really want?? :D

It also saddens me a bit that because it's such a rare occurrence to have GA tickets available for an extended period of time during general sale, people automatically suspect that something glitchy is going on... :eyebrow:

Well, yeah, that's why it's weird. It never happens.

Well can no longer pull up even 1 GA to Boston 2... there might be a chance that 20 to 30 tickets popped up and no one checked except us... I keep pulling them up and not buying them so we all might have been pulling up same tickets.

Exactly...and dont forget we are reading the thoughts and comments of OCD/ neurotic U2 fans:hyper:.... not just random people off the street who'd be more carefree about it all... I think that makes a diffference, ya know? I mean...where else are you going to find people who could actually write a thesis on the GA experience vs seats? And mind you, I think only nutty (said with love as Im one of them lol) fans are the ones who continue to see what is coming out of ticketmaster AFTER they already have tickets, so they are the ones who notice these details....

Im sure there are people out there (actually I KNOW there is) who said..."oh, the U2 tickets went on sale today, didnt they?...Let me check to see if there are any tickets...at 7pm. Went in...got em, and left & definitely did not go & analyze their location and freak out over other possibilities! Or think anything of it.

I want to ring their heads, yes...:madwife: but whatever...I'll suffer gladly for my obsession.

LOL Youre probably right!

Like I said...leave it us fans...:coocoo:

Something like that can't happen, the tix are inventoried, thats why even GA tix have sections, rows and seat #'s even though they don't have actual seats.
Obviously the decision was made to hold back some of the GA for whatever reason. Possibly to facilitate selling some less in demand seats as others have speculated.

I doubt it was only 20-30, I bet it was a few hundred, and they lingered for a while cause most who wanted them had looked this morning and either got them or found them unavailable and assumed they were gone, never expecting a release later in the day.

:sigh::sigh::sigh::sigh:

i figure all just keep trying for 1 GA 9/25 GS to drop all the way thro till day before of show

i'll ook for a sell here (other thread)

and on stubhob etc.

the security warpped letter. #'s wouldn'ct come up ast all

so I couldn't even try!:angry::angry::angry:

I am very interested to see how much of Gillette sold for night two. For Bruce last summer there was a large number of tickets unsold, some estimate 10,000 or slightly more, and the Krafts gave out thousands of tickets to local schools, hospitals, and non profits. Obviously such a move is good for PR and good for business as it gets people down to Foxboro to buy hot dogs, beers, and pay for parking.

You can still buy pairs at every price level for Gillette 2, including $32.50 seats that are in section 319 that are likely better seats than the $52.50s in section 203. No GA though.

I'm not surprised that its taking time for Gillette 2 to sell. Monday night, start of the school year, and Foxboro isn't as easy to access as the Garden is for some of us :) I'll be there though, I'm special

Skipping class to do GA!

Gillette is less than 10 miles south of me, so for me it's easier to get to.

It is interesting to see that the second night isn't selling as well as the first, which sold so quickly! I am happy to at least get to one show on the tour, so I am glad a second night was added!!

Speaking of the second night, I have a pair of GAs for sale for show #2 in boston. See the trading thread, face value of course.
