Hahaha, dream on, guys.

Seriously, I want them to perform songs from the new album, I'd like to hear new songs that haven't been performed on the BBC.

Do you think more than one song will be performed each night?

Probably one per night.

Boots, Breathe, then the next singles Crazy tonight and Magnificent. The 5th night can have BD or Vertigo.

I agree w/some of the prev. posts, I think there is a good chance they will pull out COBL or Pride, and Vertigo/BD. They know w/the old fans we would love to hear all new stuff, but they are trying to get those non-diehard fans by playing a variety of stuff to make a connection w/them. They want them to say, "oh yeah, I remember that song", then they go out and buy the old stuff and new stuff and concert tickets.....cha-ching!

I think only songs from NLOTH will be played. After all, they're trying to promote the new album. Different sounds attract different people. Someone may not like Boots, but may love Magnificent and might therefore go out and buy it. Of course anyone who bothers to post on this site is going to buy it regardless of what they play on Letterman or any other show...this is all to attract NEW fans.

So they are the musical guests? I thought they were going to be the in-house band, replacing Paul Shaffer and the other guys.......

:help:
Am I right in assuming that, seeing as I don't have cable, and seeing as Letterman only airs at ridiculous o'clock on free to air here in sydneytown I'll be able to watch the performances on the website at some point in the future???

Just had a look here
CBS | Late Show with David Letterman :
and it seems promising

You can't view video even if it's recorded from an any major US network, like CBS, unless you're in the US. That Letterman link will be pointless.

You need to find a site that will stream it or wait for YT. You can try a live CBS link at this website LIVE TV ONLINE TV live free online tv watch tv online or try justin.tv

I'm 3 hours back from when it will be first shown on the east coast and will not want to wait till later so I'll be looking for some links too, so I'll post some here if I find them.

Well I think Letterman films his show at 11am, so we may be hearing from insiders soon if they've already wrapped up filming for today...

U2 SucKZS SWWEaT BALLZzz!!1@!@!1!11!11 WHEREZZZ DRUNK CHICKERN?!?@!1@@!1!?!?!?12!/!!/! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I don't think they'd waste an entire week of promotion in the US with just new songs nobody knows. They'll do a Beautiful Day or a Vertigo or some other big hit to rope in the fairweather fans.

I think it'd be best if they got two songs a night. Do two new songs the first night, then one new song and one old song for the middle three, and two big U2 hits to end it. Something like:

1: Boots, NLOTH
2: Breathe, Beautiful Day
3: Magnificent, COBL
4: Crazy Tonight, I Will Follow
5: Vertigo, Pride

Well, I think it really looks bad to play old songs instead of new ones. Play old along new ones is fine, but play old songs only still looks pretty bad. It's promo days, it's gotta be all about the new album imo. Well, you're the setlist man, so you know what they did last promo tour.

I just checked through all those tv links on that site and none came up as CBS affiliate stations so scrap that then. No worries...we'll find something.

:) . . .yeah, I just checked the link and got that fabbo 'video unavailable' thing . . . . . .no matter, as I'll be working when it airs in the states anyway so happy as long as I manage to catch it on you tube or anywhere else later on

sweet of you to look for us all though

thanks :)

I'm pretty sure they film at 5pm or 6.:hmm: Either way we need somebody down there for inside info:D

Well maybe they changed their schedule, but it used to be much ealier, I can't imagine Letterman being able to close off the street like he does often at 5 or 6pm...

U2 is so big, they would have to play 2 songs atleast per night, all Dave has tonight is Katie Couric and U2, they're not going to talk her that long!!!

U2 will probably do one song per night. The nights with one guest just means that guest will talk longer than a normal one....plus, Bono is bound to be a guest talking to Dave on one of those nights. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the nights with one conversationalist had breathing room for Bono and another for the band. They will be interviewed at some point.

So today they are doing the first night, right ? What time is the show on and Is it possible to watch it online somewhere ?

letterman never taped at 11 am. the show usually goes on around 5 pm

The David Letterman TV Show tapes five times a week at the following tape times and days:

MONDAY - 5:30PM and 7:30PM
TUESDAY - 5:30PM
WEDNESDAY - 5:30PM
THURSDAY - 5:30PM
This TV show tapes in the Ed Sullivan Theater in Times Square, New York.
