Count me among those who think it's real... it really does sound like U2. Which is not a bad thing, even if most of us want the album to be innovative. U2 has always had a distinctive sound, across all the styles they have tried.
But it's not any of the beah clips, that's for sure. I also have a feeling it's the solo from the title track.
And why would this appear now? Again, for ATYCLB 30 seconds clips were released via U2.com before the album came out. They were supposed to come out one at a time but someone managed to trick the site and we heard them all at once. So something similar could be happening now. Or maybe this is even all a marketing ploy from U2 themselves...

the beach clips are there for weeks now, no one's taking them down...
without vocals in the clip I'm not gonna say if it's real or fake, I don't want to look like a fool when it's proven to be real/fake in a few hours/days

If this sounded any more "innovative", absolutely none of you would believe it's legit, so it cracks me up that there's some doubt springing forth because it sounds too much like U2. Is there any possible way that this could ever sound legit to you guys?

It would only be good if it were U2 for real. If its not then it would sound too derivative to be considered good, even more derivative than Coldplay.

Same I hope so badly that this is U2 and if it isn't i'm gonna bash myself with my keyboard.
I agree, if it isn't U2 i'll be annoyed but then i'll fall in love with the actual band. I don't know what to think now, 75% of people in here don't think its that good.

I will admit, I thought the same thing. The guitar sounds like Edge to me, but it doesn't sound like any descriptions of anything from the album. (yes, I know, it's only 30 seconds.) Who knows though. Like it's been said, we need to hear the vocals. 30 seconds isn't really enough.
