The focus needs to turn towards grabbing the trifecta in 2020 by any means possible.
This may be the last chance for the Democratic party to take the Senate and make meaningful changes to ensure that the makeup of the Senate remains fair to all going forward.
I'm talking DC and Puerto Rico statehood - and a serious look at breaking up California.
The Senate model as currently constructed is unsustainable for the future of our nation.
That would be the dream. The reality is that the 2022 midterm is a potential slaughter for the Republicans in the Senate but that is 4 long years away.
I hope that some lessons were learned last night. For 2020, divert resources from Florida. Seriously, it is a swamp, and at the same time a very large, time-consuming and expensive market to compete in. The last thing we need is the Democrats to obsessively campaign there when the writing is on the wall. Resources should be redirected back into the heartland (aside from Ohio, they all look like ugly states if you're Trump), Texas and Arizona. Those states are the future.
