Thanks to DJT for the thread title. White supremacist marchers, good people there. Kavanaugh protestors, not so much..
BiglyI’m sure everyone’s seen the meme, but it must be stated that the 51 Senators in favor of Kavanaugh represent 141m people, and the 49 who aren’t represent 181m people. The president also lost the popular vote by 3m.
We have structural problems and are living in a less and less representational democracy. It’s not so much that the government is run by rich, straight, white men, but that voters from white, rural, less populated areas wield disproportional political power.
We have a problem.
not "US PolitiX"?

Both... There's state tax that stays within the state, and there's federal tax that is spread throughout the country. Federal tax is more than state.how do taxes work over there? are the most highly populated (biggest tax revenue) states subsidising these rural states, or do your taxes stay in your own state?
because that would be ironic if these Trump voters are living off those they despise so much omg

The irony, though, isn't that liberal cities are funding red states. The irony is that red states are actively supporting cutting taxes at extreme levels, the benefit of which disproportionately helps liberal cities and, in turn, cuts funding to red states.

Oh, absolutely. California has, like, the fifth biggest economy in the world, larger than the UK. Hillary won “only” 500 counties, but they represent 64% of the GDP, whereas the 2,000 counties Trump won represent like 36%.
It’s just so ironic — the places that want to gut protections for workers and vote in the interest of the Koch brothers are themselves federal welfare queens.
ahh ok cheers! wow
not dissimilar to Brexit as well then, in terms of people shooting themselves in the foot... madness...
And given what’s going on in Brazil, seems more and more like a global thing.
Probably to take over Lindsay Graham’s seat when he’s promoted
Nikki Haley just resigned. 2020 campaign starts early?
