Saw my friend last party, took weed. Then the other did so and so everybody did.

I don't have problems with weed, noone has here, except a few. If you don't want some, its ok (some jack-ass will probably response "Cool, I'll have more").

Don't touch heavy drugs though, but weed is ok once in a while, to relax or get cool music ideas.

I dont think pot is that bad at all.. its not addicting .. ( I'm sure people will argue that but I believe its a fact. ) and can be enjoyed occasionally without any more damage than lets say alcohol. In fact I dont really consider it a drug.. its herbal People that have never smoked it probly wouldnt understand.

I've tried a couple other drugs in my younger years and lets just say I wont do any of them again. Hard drugs fuck you up big time. I've witnessed friends on speed and other drugs and it really messes them up. Plus I found a natural high and it feels great. There's no point in taking drugs.

Interesting thread...

I have seen people on drugs many times however never when I have been straight. I smoke pot on occasions and I dont see anything wrong with it. It is really not too different from another drug, alcohol. I mean, its effects are different but really, its very tame as far as drugs go. I dont know how they (we) appear to others really when we do. I dont really go out and socialise with others when I do it so I really dont know....id much rather prefer to stay somewhere and chill

Sicy, pot IS addictive though. I know people who are addicted to it and cant get off it. They need it to function properly and get very annoyed and agressive when they dont have any.

Technically pot is a drug because it contains THC which floods to your brain and alters the senses.

BUT it is a herbal drug(if its not laced )

Like I said,
I'e no problem with pot, and I would not rule out never doing it again.
But I've seen some friends get so addicted to pot that they become unmotivated, uncaring, and lazy.
You know them...we all do...those potheads who spend all their money of weed and spend all their hours smoking up in a run down apartment.

heh...well maybe all this is a little extreme!

Been there, done that, clawed my way out of it again

It's not big, and it's not clever. But by the same token I'm not afraid to say that I've been there and I've done that. And you're all completely right - there is nothing cool about it at all.

However, I would like to distance myself somewhat from the 'social' takers. The people, who for whatever reason, decide that a high on a night out is worth gambling your life for. And, of course, not just your life, but the life of your families, friends and relatives. But if that's what floats your boat, then feel free. If your life is worth so little, then you're right, one more drink can't hurt, and one little pill isn't dangerous. Waking up in a gutter is fun, and realising that you don't even know your name *what a thrill!!! I don't think.

I was lucky. I had a problem, which is surprising, considering I'm young. But nearly 2 years ago, I developed a habit when things got too bad for me. I'm a depressive, and sometimes everybody needs a crutch. That was mine. Anything, you name is, alcohol, dope, drugs, painkillers. Anything to stop the sort of hurting that I had inside. And that's one 'good' thing about something like that. You end up so incapable that most of the time people will just tidy up around you and put you to bed. One time I wasn't so lucky, and it was a 'short' habit of about 4 months, but one time someone didn't pick me up afterwards.

I have an addictive personality, and habits grow on me. And suddenly, when I thought I was fun and cool to be around, I had to look at where I'd got myself. No fun Suddenly I had to look at all the people I'd ever been rude to, upset, made passes at, and without my crutch. And much fun as it was (I don't think) I got through it.

And there is nothing wrong with being afraid of people who are out of it. They're unpredictable, and can be dangerous. But on the other hand, please remember that sometimes they're just crying out for help in a language that nobody understands.

I'm 'clean' now. I drink in moderation and smoke. Moderation is a difficult thing to handle, but it's possible. And before you all go running scared, don't worry, I'm not a scary mofo with a broken family and an abusive personality. I'm just someone who got lost for a while.

Now, who's for a lemon tart? :lemon:

pot addictive? yes and no

Well, yes and no. Pot does not cause your brain to form a chemical or physical addiction as does cocaine, speed, heroin, etc etc. Pot can cause some people to become psychologically addicted as they remember the good times they had while high and want more, associating good times with being high. But its not a phsyical or chemical addiction per se.

You can break the psychological addiction to pot very easily by just quitting for a couple of weeks. The first couple of days you'll probably be crabby, but then as time goes on you are more than likely to experience good times that did not involved being high, and you go, hey, I guess I dont have to be high to enjoy myself.

Cocaine and heroin etc are way different. Just try going cold turkey off those drugs, its near impossible.

Then again, I could be wrong, thats happened before...rarely..LOL...

Yeah.. pretty much. I think it also depends on the person too. Some people have more addicting personalities than others. I see it more like an occasional treat rather than something I need cuz I definatly can live without it. By the way not that its anyone's business but I've smoked for about 10 years and I'm not stupid nor do I have a bad memory and all that other garbage they say about people who smoke.

And Sula.. lol

baker, are you trying to be the Interference poster child for a 'just say no' campaign?

Much as I liked smoking, I'd be the last person to say that it improved my life so dramatically that I cant possibly understand why everyone else isnt doing it...cmon man!

I watched someone coming down from heroin once, which was not pretty. He was shaking violently, sweating, talking to himself...etc. etc. Of course, his preferred way of dealing with it was taking more drugs--some cocktail of tranquilizers and Ritalin, I think. (This was a long time ago.)

On a slight tangent, I will never understand why people pick heroin as a drug to get mixed up in. You hear people telling funny stories, as well as tragic ones, about drinking, smoking pot, what have you. But there doesn't seem to be anything redeeming in heroin use.

Mum and I knew this guy as a 'friend' and apparantly aaaaages ago he mentioned that in order to 'chill' hed spliff...........and mum said she nearly asked him for some as its harmless stuff and she did a bit when she was young................so like..........

..and I know someone else who spliffs........and his breath is so stagnant because of it.........pretty strong stuff then!

Oh Cannabal, to answer u, if u return to read, I woulda been round 19/20.......now now before u say 'Ach but sure u were very young' - they were as young as me, or at least 19 - 25...........even now Id be scared............

even pple seen druggin on the streets scare me..in Belfast, it is very rare but 13 -15 year old girls and boys glue-sniff through a bag......and its so sad.......such a waste...........that they are damaging themselves now..... Its crazy..........it hurts to see also.

(actually I wouldnt know, but does glue-sniffin give u the same 'high' as any drug, or a drug?)

I know pple say LA and NYC (ok they seem to be the ones pointed out as the biggest - but dont blame me, I not here to offend fellow Inters) - have the largest amount of pple who sit around glue-sniffin, injectin, and tabbin, and whatever, etc.........

so, while Im a person who would loooove to see those two cities....I know that if walkin round I saw tons of that, Id be dead terrified - I reckon those livin there can handle better what they know and who they are aware off......................I would prob be scared of being attacked............I dunno, I dont want to judge two cities that could be well hyped up from movies..etc.....

its hard to know.......

but sometimes I wish, for the sake of human-being health......this was a drug-free world............

and I reckon 'Say No' Campaigns only work with the handful of kids who stand back and see whats happenin, those who dont say no, are in there, challengin themselves to see what it brings..................and sometimes the result can be disasterous or a tragedy............

(I dont tink I made any sense there! ..)

I watched my wife smoke pot lots of times. I was getting stoned, too.

They need to legalize it, dammit.
