apostrophes are needed in the english language, because there are no cases. :blahblah:

ok 4 years of language classes will do this to a person ok? :crack:

apostrophe
The superscript sign ( ' ) used to indicate the omission of a letter or letters from a word, the possessive case, or the plurals of numbers, letters, and abbreviations.

does this mean without apostrophes that we wouldn't own anything?

 :crack:

Apostrophes are one of the most important facets of the English language, highlighting the differences between the plural and possessive forms.

Ex: It's (It is) vs. Its

That one kills me when people get it wrong.

I'm tempted to say we don't need apostrophes simply because it bugs me so much when people talk about "Iraqi's" instead of "Iraqis". But then again, I've used at least three apostrophes in this sentence, so maybe they are kind of necessary...and maybe I just spend too much time in FYM. ;)
