Though it may seem a bit premature...

Everyone's favorite POP_Whore and myself have booked our flights for Chicago... now we just need somewhere to sleep! If anyone has suggestions or recommendations regarding hotels in the area near the arena... it would be much appreciated... thanks!

Well, you might not want to stay too close to the United Center, as it isn't in one of the nicer parts of town. Your best bet would be to stay a bit further out, even in the west suburbs, and take the El (Chicago's train) into the city the day of the concert. From the nearest stop, it shouldn't be more than a 15 minute walk. The El goes as far west as O'Hare airport, and also goes pretty far north and south.

Check out these sites for some more info: http://chicago.hotelguide.net/ http://www.transitchicago.com/

Hope to see you there!

Don't you have to walk through some pretty crappy areas from the El station to the arena?

If you're two girls going alone I'd probably go for the bus, or a cab but be sure you arrange a pickup ahead of time.
