I'm just now starting my second listen to Zero 7's cd The Garden.

From Wikipedia:

Zero 7 is a downtempo styled musical duo comprising Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker from the United Kingdom. The band's songs feature vocals from Mozez, Sia Furler, Tina Dico, Sophie Barker, José González, and for the first time, Henry Binns providing backing vocals on the third album, The Garden. Zero 7 is sometimes viewed as the British counterpart to the French downtempo group Air.

I suck at assigning genres, but according to Wikipedia, they're downtempo/trip-hop/acid jazz/ambient/dream pop.

If anyone would like anything from The Garden, let me know. :shifty:

The Secret Machines have been rocking my world really hard lately...

God, I love those guys. I just saw Secret Machines and Broken Social Scene live last week, both were really freaking great.

And for the guy asking about the new Arcade Fire album, there's going to be a new one sometime in 2007. I'm really looking forward to it.

Anyway, new bands rocking my world? I'd have to go with Voxtrot, since they haven't got as big as some of these other bands yet, despite their obvious greatness. It's most likely because they haven't released a full-length album yet (just 2 awesome EPs and another EP that they just recently released which was good, albeit far too short). If you're a fan of Belle and Sebastian (or just great pop songs in general), I'd really recommend checking this band out. They're so good.

 Saw the Machines live at the beginning of October... I LOVED the In-the-Round setup... was perfect for their sound.

Another discovery rocking my world lately: IV Thieves

I'll be seeing them open for The Bravery tomorrow night. I'm terribly excited :hyper:

My Avatar says it all! I don't think anyone outside of Germany has heard of Rio Reiser but  . An oldie but definitely a goodie.

(Rammstein and all other so called "bands" don't even come within a million miles!)

Cannibal Corpse? Whoa there!

I bought an Eric B and Rakim CD used. I've never heard any of their stuff before, and I'm blown away. Well, to be honest I haven't got past the first track yet, but it's really damn good.
