oh man, I just came back from a used cd/book/record/video store.. I mean, I always went to this place, but before, they didn't have any decent music. but I did some thorough inspections and found quite a few that I felt I wanted to buy. cause.. if I don't like the cd... I can always sell it back to them and get a few bucks back. haha.
believe it or not, this stuff was on clearance:

Tigercity - Self Titled
Dreamend - As If By Ghosts...
French Toast - In A Cave
Starsailor - Love Is Here
Firecracker - So Long Someday.
The Scattered Pages - Lazy Are The Skeletons
... Of Sinking Ships - Self Titled
Sir Georg Solti + The Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Bruckner Symphony No. 6 in A Major (vinyl)
Echo & the Bunnymen - Porcupine (vinyl)

out of all of the stuff I bought, the ones I love and appreciate the most are Of Sinking Ships' and Dreamend's records.

I bought a couple more cds last week, but I can't remember where I put them.. :|

I have a £30 Virgin gift voucher and they have absolutely nothing. Any of the good stuff is either gone or twice the price of HMV.

Within the last year, I've bought all four of Muse's studio releases, and I must say I haven't been disappointed.
It's amazing that within a year, I've gone from not knowing anything about this band to putting them at #4 behind U2, The Police and Radiohead on my alltime list of bands (seriously).

My beloved nephew calls me up the other day and says he'd like to go to Amoeba this weekend please. :crack:

My selections:
The Secret Policeman's Other Ball ('spenvive when they're out of print, ain't they)
American Hardcore soundtrack
Le Tigre--Le Tigre
Police--Regatta
Police--Outlandos
Paul Simon--Graceland
BellRays--The Red White and Black

The Killers - Sam's Town
The Blind Boys of Alabama - Go Tell It On The Mountain
The Who - Endless Wire
Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Ben Harper - Both Sides Of The Gun

Talking Heads - The Name Of This Band Is...
The Cardigans - Gran Turismo
Secret Machines - The Road Leads Where It's Led *single*
The Sex Pistols - Anarchy In The U.K.
Patti Smith Group - Easter
Feeder - Swim
Ash - Meltdown
The Dresden Dolls - Yes, Virginia...

I got:

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (heard it before a long time ago, but I'm giving it another go)

And that's the end of my $100 HMV gift voucher.

The Queen is Dead is one of my favourite albums ever

It's my first Smiths album...yes, I know, I'm musically stunted when it comes to the 80s. Had a listen to it on the bus and I enjoyed it very much! And it sounds like one of those albums that will get better with each listen. I wasn't too wild on Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others, though.
