im sad because mine are getting fixed tomorrow, i had to drop them off tonight and wont pick them back up till tomorrow after work. :| :(

Mine always love me soooo much more after I bring them home from the vet -- especially after an overnight stay. You think they would be mad I took them there in the first place, but they are always so happy to get home they forget about that. :lol:

Hope your kitties do well and that you get the "I love you, I love you, I love you!" treatment from them when you get them home. :)

They'll be ok.. boys do really well with neutering and they should be feeling fine by the time you pick them up. Good thing you've done btw :up:
 
Hello all.:wave:

I don't actually own a cat and I don't whether I should have started a seperate thread, but I've got some questions about general cat behaviour and specifically my neighbours cat.

About a year and a half ago new neighbours moved in next door and brought with them 2cats, one male and one female. The male one is extremely timid and scarpers the second anyone gets remotely close to him, the female one on the other hand is far more easy going and relaxed and she seems to have taken a real liking to my property, particuarly my back garden. Pretty much every day I see her lounging on the fence, on the roof of my shed, on the roof of my car, on my bench, on the table and particuarly just under the long hedge, where she seems to have made a nice little alcove for herself. She spends hours there just dozing and looking around. Occassionally she comes around to the open back door and peers inside. Although I've never fed her (I don't think its right really and I don't want her to adopt me as her new owner) I don't mind her hanging around because she never causes any trouble or any damage.

Over the back is another cat though who doesn't like her at all, I think its another female because I often see and hear them fighting or simply moaning at each other, plus this other cat has a pink collar with jingles so you always know when she's around. I think the pink collar cat is bullying my neighbours cat, lately the pink collar cat seems to have realised that my neighbours cat is spending alot of time under my hedge and has been creeping up on her when she's asleep, I've been shooing her off but today my neighbours cat was sleeping a little more in the open and I saw the pink collar cat standing just besides her watching her sleep. What on Earth is going on?

Tonight my neighbours cat was sleeping under the hedge again and the pink collar cat was looking in at her and kind of had her cornered, I also heard moaning but I couldn't tell which cat it was coming from, eventually the pink collar cat walked around in a circle and strolled off.

So are these two enemies or do they want to mate or something? I've got no idea what's going on, but any insights into (slightly creepy) cat behaviour would be appreciated. Thankyou. :)
 
Hmm it depends on what sex each cat is and if they are both fixed. Ask your neighbor if their cats are fixed and if they know who the other cat belongs to and if its fixed. If its an unfixed male chances are he is trying to mate and/or fight with the cat that hangs out at your place. Or it could just simply be a territorial thing.

My neighbours cat is definitely female and the pink collar cat who lives in the house right the back of my neighbours I'm pretty certain is female too. Before today they'd only ever had fights with each other. The pink collar cat seems a bit of a bully, always hanging around and she won't leave until I actively go out and shoo her off. It just seems strange that she's suddenly taken a liking to creeping up on my neighbours cat whilst she sleeping and (weirdly) watching her sleep. I keep hoping if I shoo her off enough she won't be back but she's persistent.

Don't know if they're both fixed, have to try and find out.
 
As I said earlier, cats are very therapeutic and highly entertaining.

Whenever I give The Edge a little milk he'll drink it out of the bowl, no matter where I put it, and start pawing at the ground around the bowl for a good five minutes. The same kind of action he does in the litter box. It's very strange, but I laugh.

He also likes to lay on his back and 'present' himself to everyone. Must be a comfortable position. But again, highly entertaining when he does that.
 
Yes, Saki likes to scratch around Zoey's food bowl just like he does in the litterbox.
I think maybe he's covering it up and 'saving it for later' :lol:

And of course Zoey is the resident hooker..

That's how The Edge lays! Exactly like that. I didn't think it was a comfortable position for a cat, but apparently I am wrong. :lol:

They are back home safe & sound now and they are acting a bit drunk from the meds. But everything went fine. I have to take them back for a checkup in a week. Boomer weighed 7.8 lbs & Oreo 7.9, they are 5 months old today. I fed them just a little bit and will feed them a little bit more in a few hours. Hopefully they will sleep it off. And hopefully they dont resent me for "taking something away from them" :ohmy:

Thanks for the kind words, and thanks Sicy for adding the pics. I will take some more sometime soon, they keep growing i think they are going to be big cats. I bought them another bed and a couple of new toys, though i dont think they need the catnip for a while. Also i have to give them some oral meds for a few days for pain and inflammation.

They will live a much better life now :up:

And wow it sounds like you have a great vet! I've never had to give meds for boy neutering.. just for girls.
 
ugh.. I'm mess right now.. apparently bella got out either on last thursday when we left for cali or the next day friday when my sister in law came to check on her. I freaking out.. They found her behind the house and are tryin to entice her in with the back slider door open and are hanging out watching tv with her food just inside the door. They initially put the wet food out to get her but made the dumb mistake and let her eat it all.. I am all the way here in cali trying to get my sister in law to get her in the house.. I am helpless! She has been out since then hunkered down in these weeds by our back neighbors house. She doesn't know Diane and is kinda freaked so she isn't going to come running to her. She is psycho cat as u guys know so I am at a loss what to do.

this is a nightmare...:sad:
