Hi Jo

Fly I slept in my car between classes when I went to College (I commuted, driving back and forth from my hometown) I often had too much time between classes but not enough to make it worth driving back and forth and the cost of gas etc...

I had a short commute when I went back for my masters -- the university was only about 10 miles from my house and a few miles from work. So I didn't have to spend a lot of extra time in my car, luckily.

But two years ago in the middle of my last class, my old car died. So I had to buy another one about six months before I'd wanted to.

That sucks Jo :uhoh: thats a tough thing to deal with, I've been there - My husband has a tendancy to run a vehicle until it can't run anymore and then scramble to find a replacement

I'm like that too. Part thrift, part procrastnation. I actually bought the Saturn I now own when I took my first Saturn into a dealership to have the radiator light checked. They told me the radiator had a major leak that couldn't be fixed (at least not without a major expense), and I should just buy another car -- and it was an eight-year-old car with about 110,000 miles on it, and I was planning to buy a new car that spring or summer anyway. So I bought another car, there, that very night.

But I'll always think that old red coupe should have run much longer than it did.

Aww  I hate it when a good car dies too young :sigh:

and you really never can tell, can you? We had an Escort that just would not stop; it was like the little car that could  Even after an engine fire, hitting a deer, and I can't even remember how many miles but it was unbelievable!

I had the other Escort like that! No engine fire, but I *almost* hit a deer in it once. I finally got rid of it with over 120,000 miles on it (and I don't know how many fluids it was leaking at the time).

My dad's Camry is old enough to drive itself  (17 years old now) It's hit two deer, commuted back and forth Chatham-Windsor, Chatham-Sarnia and Chatham-Leamington (all multiple times - at one point both 'rents were working in Windsor, then it became Dad's car for when he got transferred to Sarnia, then Leamington), plus God knows how many swim meets... I think it ran up to Thunder Bay once... It's finally in "retirement" in the 'rents driveway (soon to be gone, likely sometime this year) because the body's starting to rust out.

Hey there Jo!!! how are ya tonight?

SG - eh...I'm still sick as ever. But I had some friends come over with champagne and wine tonight, and I had loads of fun. that really cheered me up.

Mia!

I was feeling down earlier. Probably just a bad case of PMS. Or I'm having a bad year, so far. But being here is cheering me up immensely.

Sorry to hear you're sick. Something's really been going around my neck of the woods for the last month, and it's taking people (myself included) to feel better again. :( Nice of your friends to, um, come by. :drunk:

Not much has happened around here so far as I know

my sig and avi is the Ninth Doctor (Dr Who :nerd: ) I have such a crush on him :giggle:

The actor's name is Christopher Eccleston

SG, I think Christopher Eccleston is great too!!! I love his Doctor Who. I haven't liked the new guy (David I-forgot-his-last-name) nearly as much. In Second Life (which I can't play at home because my laptop is busted), I have a couple of Tardises--they don't fly, but they look really cool.

A friend of mine said Eccleston is supposed to join the cast of HEROES sometime in January.

As for me, I got back from a two-day hospital stay a few hours ago. I'm okay...I was tested for heart problems, but the tests were negative. I'm so glad to be home!!!

I'll see you all soon!
