Speaking of recording things badly, what do people think of their sorta-maybe plan to redo and re-record a more finished Pop?

It might be cool but I'd rather they spend time producing new stuff.

Queueing for GA at Dublin 1 I got to hear a full band soundcheck of "Wild Horses" and had a feeling what was coming...a very cool night, that was :)

I heard somewhere that Wild Horses is very disliked by the band.

They think the Achtung version doesn't achieve the song's potential.

On the 9/21 Chicago boot, Bono says right before WGRYWH, "We're going to play a song we haven't played very much. I'm not sure why. It's quite simple, really."

I thought that it was interesting that 'simplicity' was a critieria for playing a song... maybe that's why there are so many lyrics taped all over the stage this tour.

recorded badly?

the best in the album (behind Acrobat)

I actually saw that in an interview once; they think they ruined the song. :(

It is indeed an excellent song live though, that's why they play it; they can improve on it.

Love that...

"Come on now love, don't you LOOK BACK"

WGRYWH has some of my favorite U2 lyrics, as well:

"well you stole it, cause i needed the cash
and you killed it, cause i wanted revenge
well you lied to me, cause i asked you to...
baby, can we still be friends"

I feel the same about Acrobat. No joke. -runs- :reject:

Your not alone there. One of my least favorite on Achtung Baby actually. I think it gets alot of hype because they never played it in concert. Its not a bad song, but its one I sometimes skip when I listen to that album.

Regarding Wild Horses. If the band didnt like the song, they certainly wouldnt be breaking it out live for this tour. I think what was said is they were not happy with the recorded version that ended up on AB and that the single version that was released was more of what they had in mind with the song.
