yes very good! The number 25 in global chart FALL OUT BOY solds 70,308 in Us only.....i think near 75k for HTDAAB is not a miracle...

Yes, It is very good that Bomb has gone up 3 spots & back into top 20 at Mediatraffic (MT) - BUT I think it would have sold about 54K. The actual MT album chart is based on points and Bomb probably got 75,000 POINTS for this week. This is because it probably returned to various worldwide charts not because it SOLD 75K. In fact it seems Bomb actually decreased in SALES from last week as there's no blue triangle next to Bomb on MT chart. I hope I'm wrong (& you're right) but that's what MT told me last week.

Here are the last few weeks of Bomb at MT (w.21 - w.23 were given to me by MT last week, w.24 - w.25 are my estimates) :

7224M + 64K (w.21) + 63K (w.22) + 60K (w.23) = 7411M + 55K (w.24) + 54K (w.25) = 7520M

So, this means that HTDAAB has 'officially' sold about another 1M in these 169 countries (or an average of 5917 copies in each) if we agree with the current Mediatraffic figure of about 7520M, which covers 'nearly 95%' of worldwide album sales - that's 7044M + 1M = 8044M (est.) 'officially' sold worldwide.

However, as you, beLIEve, & others, have already mentioned I would think that HTDAAB has 'unofficially' sold another 1-2M due to illegal sales & unreported sales data - so that's 8044M + 1-2M = 9-10M (est.) 'unofficially' sold in these 194 countries.

Based on the chart positions of HTDAAB U2 are arguably more popular in Belgium (7 wks at #1, 22 wks in top 10, ), Holland (4 wks at #1, 18 wks in top 10) & maybe a few other countries (like Italy, Chile etc). I'm still amazed that Bomb has maybe 'only' sold about 80K in Belgium - that's 50K less than Portugal which has the same size population, 30K less than Ireland which has less than half the population of Belgium & the equivalent of 465K in UK!!

In fact, with the same chart positions in UK as Belgium HTDAAB would have sold about 1.5M in UK by now!!

Speaking of other countries,I am new here and I am from Serbia and Montenegro. What I can tell about sales in my country is that by decembar 31 2004 HTDAAB sold 3500 copies. This is a very weak market because of the illegal sales and therefor a very good result for U2 to sell probably 5000 original copies by now.

Hi! Welcome to the forum & thanks for this info : As I calculated, above, 5000 'official' copies is just below average for these other 169 countries, although with a population of almost 11M I did think that the figure would be higher for your country - more like 20-30K at least. Also, as a comparison, Slovenia has a population of only 2M yet HTDAAB has sold 9K there. But I honestly don't know that much about album sales in Serbia & Montenegro. So, I guess we can now take the 'official' sales total of HTDAAB to 7049M (7044M + 5K). :)

BTW - Am I correct in thinking that HTDAAB has sold maybe 50-100K in Russia?

Just to ad for a Serbia and Russia sales.Serbia has a big problem with piracy and according to stattistics only 7-10% music albums are legaly bought. As for Russia,50K is minimum.

Thanks again for this info - I guess we can now say at least 7100M 'official' sales of HTDAAB from 27 countries.

PS - Any idea on a maximum figure for Russia?
