Ouroboros

to celebrate me 1000th post i thought i'd post in my fave corner on this rediculous site - here's the radio edit of the 1st real "poem" i ever posted here (other than the u know what betty!).

and we're looking around hiding away
and as time goes by
and the leaves turn brown
when snow'll fall to the ground
and we fade to grey
as we're lapping it up, selling our souls
we all lose our minds
as we all fall foul
to our dreams and doubts
as for blood to the pound
so no more they'll mind
if we're telling our lore - fightin a war
and not knowing how
or the reason for
as we maim and mangle
those who come between
ourselves and our thorns
only time will tell
whether we passed the test
when we're layed to rest

These are really interesting, powerful lines. Is this poem named after the book "The Worm Ouroboros"? If not, what is it named after? If so, is it a book worth reading?

u'll find some info there (i just found that page off google hehe)

millenium, xfiles and redwarf fans may have encountered that symbol

i used it as a title cos this was a reworking of the 1st poem i contributed so it was coming full circle - also that symbol (the ouroboros) has strong associations with time
