a blank page
She came in
From the corner room
the bone filled maw receded
Let her pass
'Are you there?', she asked.
But the teeth
did not respond

I was never there
Cause you were never here
It's not my fault or yours
I'm trying to find a third party
To settle all this guilt on

I stare at the blades of grass
Each atom connects
To form a blade
To be cut down or trampled on
Or picked
by someone
with too much time on their hands
Wondering why connections elude him

It's always too much too soon
Or too little too late
sometimes nothing at all
The glass just shatters
the bodies just burst into flame
All that is left are singed legs
On a melted chair

Cigarette in hand
Slowly burning away
As my throat chokes
And my vision collapses
To memories
Of nothing

'Are you there?', she asked.

'Of course.', I said as I embraced her.

'I wonder where you go
When your eyes glaze over like that.',
she says behind smile and playful gaze.

Very well written, Hermes! Polished like cut glass.

Thank you both very much.

Wanderer, I do have longer writings, but nothing in prose form that is very recent. I am in the process of writing a few independent comic books and a graphic novel so I have been out of practice in the prose form. Although an idea did come by recently

And I should know because I've seen them,
But not very often...
