Thanks, Idun. It was taken near Schuyler, Virginia, USA. Hard to tell, but it's on quite a steep hillside, on the way up a mountain. Beautiful area!

Went to Henry Coe State Park on Sunday to do some hiking and photography. Beautiful rolling green hills with plenty of oak trees. Really nice to see some natural, unspoiled California wilderness every once in a while.

I like them all, but this ones my favourite. I love how the flower is focused and the background is unfocused.

Cemeteries can qualify as scenic places, can't they? Sad occasion, but I can't think of a more beautiful place to spend the rest of time. In rural mid-Virginia, a funeral at a country church often includes following the hearse up the hill behind the church to the resting place.

I agree with you about cemetary pics, MsPurrl. There's something so unspeaking and mysterious about them, especially the older ones. I have a number of relatives buried in VA cemetaries.

I like the shot above through the brick opening showing a bit of snow on the cemetary grounds in the background

I'm not really sure if this counts as a scenic picture or not. It's in New York City, on Saturday, just a bunch of pigeons that would take flight almost all at the same time.
