does anyone know how edge creates the "been around the back, been around the front" part?

I always thought he was saying "little red coat." I imagine he's using some sort of flanger/phaser/wah type effect, similar to the intro to UTEOTW. I do know that he uses a digitech whammy pedal get the crazy high swooping sound in mofo.
