where do you connect your delay unit? preamp or post amp

Edge uses his in front of his amps (since Voxes and the fenders he's been using don't have effects loops).

I put mine before the amp as my Fender has no effects send/return loop. But even if it had one I still wouldn't as my effects rig is already complicated enough without it.
I've heard that if you use a noise gate though it would be advisable to place your delay after the noise gate, to prevent it from cutting off the decaying delays. |
