So I got to thinking, maybe Songs of Ascent will really happen albeit in a different fashion then originally discussed by Bono.

Supposedly Songs of Experience is coming out soon....

Songs of Innocence and Experience sold together = Songs of Ascent? Sounds like something that maybe marketed that way. I definitely don't think it's coincidence that Songs of... has been used three times.

Maybe someday, but they've claimed that project's chief song for this one, and they've clearly decided to focus on more earthly reflection with this than Songs of Ascent implied (given what we've heard and that we have a title borrowed from Blake rather than Psalms).

Songs Of Ascent is not happening. U2 see NLOTH as a failure. Why would they release something that was designed to be a supplemental piece to that?

The only confirmation we have from the band is one more record in this theme SOE. Fanning simply was speculating about a trilogy. His quotes are so non-committal with no quotes from the band.
