The last in the "Rank your favorite songs series", cause we're done with all the studio albums!
It's been fun doing these threads everyone, and I've got another secret thread surprise for after this one. But here goes with the band's fifth studio album, The Joshua Tree.
The Joshua Tree is my second favorite U2 album, but I think this was the hardest one for me to rank, just because I cannot bring myself to say that some songs are better than others. I thin everything about this album is perfect, but I'll try my very best!
1 - Where The Streets Have No Name (OF COURSE )
2 - Running To Stand Still (in my opinion, the greatest song lyrically, behind Ultraviolet)
3 - With Or Without You (an amazing song. Everything about it is wonderful. The guitar - especially the solo, the bass, the drums that slowly build throughout the song, and of course Bono's fantastic vocals.)
4 - In God's Country (one of my favorite Edge guitar riffs. Loved the snippet during Beautiful Day last year!)
5 - One Tree Hill (hoping they play this song in Australia....for some reason, this song reminds me of New York City. Don't know why. But whenever I am in NYC, I always end up listening to this song, COBL, and New York on repeat )
6 - Red Hill Mining Town (this song holds a special place in my heart as being the first song I was able to masterfully play on guitar. I love it)
7 - Trip Through Your Wires (I love this song. Enough said)
8 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (love it on the 360 tour, love it on this album, love it in general. This also holds a special place for me because I played this song at my uncle's funeral - it was his favorite song of all time and I felt so honored to be able to play it for all my friends and family. I started crying after the second verse and my best friend was forced to come up and help me finish singing it. It was such a marvelous moment in my life, though. Love it.)
9 - Bullet the Blue Sky (I like this song a lot, especially when I am driving. Don't bring it back for 360 though! It needs to rest...)
10 - Mothers of the Disappeared (this is higher than Exit, because I love the tranquility of the song and the amazing guitar. Plus, when they performed MOTD on the 360 tour, I was in awe at how good it sounds)
11 - Exit (I still love this rockin' song, and I'd love to hear it played live)
Seriously, in my book, all these songs would be number one. I don't have a problem with any of them, and whenever they appear on shuffle I can't seem to bring myself to skip them.
Sorry about rambling on about a few of the songs, this album just has such a dear place in my heart. Looking forward to what you guys have to say about it
