U2 actually offered opening slots to other bands, but got turned down (famously MGMT). Interpol kinda sounds like Snow Patrol, vocalwise

The "cause" of their rift? Bit of a stretch don't you think?

Kurt declined Axl opening slot offer and birthday invitation
Kurt took some jabs at GNR in the press
MVA backstage stuff

Wasnt' that the pattern of events. U2 also wanted Nirvana when they blew up in late 91 and they started ZOOTV in early 92, but they went with Pixies as an altrnate choice.

Tokio Hotel in Germany, U2tour.de reports!

edit: Nevermind fellas, don't want to be cruel... April Fools! I did admittedly buy it for a minute or so...

Some my say U2 have had good opening acts or their fans are open minded, but I've seen some very cold shoulders for some great acts. PJ Harvey in particular.
THIS
I distinctly remember an Elevation show where some clueless chick behind me said 'Omigod, she's like Courtney Love!' during the first minute of PJ's set. Ugh.

In Vancouver her reception was very poor. The crowd was loud and basically ignoring her, from what i remember. Her sound was aweful too.

Man, if only GNR took Lenny's place. then i wouldn't feel so bad having to see the fray. :p

I remember PJ. She was loud and I couldn't understand anything she said.

According to rumors, Oakland is getting TWO opening bands, both are lame. What about other dates? Or are we the only unfortunate lucky ones?
