Oh my god I get Kasabian twice :doh:
With all these other cool artists like Lenny Kravitz, Onerepublic etc I was hoping for something good.
At least I can sleep a bit before U2 starts then.

And Interpol
Um, YES?

I'd even prefer lady gaga :)doh:) over Kasabian, such a damn boring band with boring music.

I'd give up one of my fingers* to see Elbow open for U2.

*one of those less important fingers, maybe a ring finger. Actually, maybe a toe would be better. I'd give up a toe.

I'm actually happy to see Kasabian twice!
One Republic would have been a bit.... Boring
Interpol is okay, I don't know many songs of them and I like a few.

Slightly disappointed about the lack of Arcade Fire, but I love Interpol, so I can't complain :D

I'd also be happy to see Kasabian. Love them, too.

I'm very excited to be seeing Snow Patrol in Moscow. Most support acts I've seen have been pretty rubbish, so to have one which I'd actually pay to see on their own tour is great :applaud:

I have Interpol in Coimbra and have never heard of them so will need to youtube them.

I love the continued U2 - Snow Patrol relationship.

I'm bummed we ended up with Interpol for Montreal and NJ, I was hoping the delay in announcing meant there'd be special guests.

I'm glad it's Interpol for my show. It's my favourite group of all the openers this year.

They actually played the role of opener far better than Muse did, they engaged the crowd and got everyone having a good time, Muse barely acknowledged the crowd or U2 and used 360's sound system to ear-bleeding levels, and I was in the nosebleeds across the stadium from them.

Actually, I read somewhere that they were originally called Management but another band had that name first so now they're MGMT.

Also, it's tough to tell from that story the reason behind why they don't want to open for big acts. It could be some indie hipster BS but it could be that they don't want to be perceived as a massive pop group and prefer to stay in their niche until they're ready to move up.

In 1991 Nirvana turned down opening offers from U2(Pixies were choice #2), GNR(cause of their rift), Rush(according to Peart) and possibly Metallica.

Openign sucks because it's not your stage, you may not get a soundcheck and it's not your audience. Plus half empty Stadiums can be daunting, perhaps counterproductive, for up and coming bands.

Some my say U2 have had good opening acts or their fans are open minded, but I've seen some very cold shoulders for some great acts. PJ Harvey in particular.
