Matt Holliday just called - he wonders if he can come and play in the World Series. Please call him back.

1. Bloated payroll - This is a BIG one. Throwing money around to BUY championships. They sign gap -filling, over-priced players like they are the Yankees. ie. Drew and Dice-K for examples. Great if it's your team - sucky for baseball teams not in NY, Boston, LA, or Chicago. Salary cap anyone??
The OOTS said:2. Superior, Aloof fans - What is it with this Red Sox Nation crap?? Where did all these bandwagoneers come from?? All of a sudden, everyone is a Sox fan? 10 years ago there wasn't this type of fanaticism...now in most visiting stadiums there are more Sox 'fans' than home team fans. Unless y'all been in hiding for the last 10+ years.. I call bullshit.
The OOTS said:3. Media coverage - The Yankees used to get all the press...now the Red Sox also dominate the coverage East coast..west coast..north...south..it doesn't matter. Gets tiresome watching Papelbon doing his river dance as a piece story or Manny declaring that if he doesn't care if they win there is always next year.
The OOTS said:Apologies to those who've followed the Sox religiously for years and years. I'm sure you'll be reaping the rewards for years to come. But, I'm getting force fed the Red Sox from all directions and to me they are quickly becoming the new Yankees.

While I agree that the Sox have their share of bandwagon fans, quite a few us, like myself, have been fans of the team our whole lives and went through years of nothing. Give us a break if we finally get to enjoy the success now.
Hewson said:Serious line move, Rox are now +152.
Well good thing I didn't do it this morning. Still not sure if I'll do it, but the line is better now if I choose to do so.

This is what annoys me the most. I can't tell you how many people I know who were Blue Jays fans when they were young (when they were winning) who are now all of a sudden rooting for the Red Sox like they've been lifelong fans, then decide to rub it in my face when Boston is doing well.
There's the same thing going on here with the Patriots too, which contributes to my dislike of them as well. People who I went to school with who as kids rooted for the Cowboys or the 49ers, and now cheer for the Patriots.
It's not the lifelong fans I have a problem with. You guys realize that the team does have its ups and downs and I can respect a fan that sticks with his or her team during the lean years. It's the frontrunners I can't stand. And now that two Boston teams are doing very well (let's wait a few months before we crown the Celtics champs), and considering that they're the closest (geographically) to where I live, it's everywhere.
I can't friggin' stand frontrunner fans. But it absolutely makes me go batshit crazy when they act like king shit simply for rooting for the currently-winning team, as if they themselves directly contributed to the team's success.

I feel that the Yankees and Red Sox have both learned from the Twins and A's of the world. They have put a lot more focus on their minor league prospects in the last few years...and it is showing (Papelbon, Pedroia, Ellsbury and some Yankees I could not name).

So you're keeping your affinity for ASU quiet?
I completely agree with this post. Just cannot stand bandwagon fans...well, bandwagon fans that act like they've been there all along, especially.
