I wonder if the rumors are connected to when Ticketmaster accidentally showing U2 playing in Ohio this October
Likewise, Tori Amos sits on a piano bench for her entire show, but manages to play the damn thing with her entire body.Generally I agree. But good songwriting is what wins out in the end. For example Depeche Mode are an incredible live band and yet they stand there mostly playing keyboards.
U2songs are so good, they certainly know their stuff, found myself visiting them a lot more this past year or so.
nice little interview with someone from the brass band on RHMT here too.
that Joshua Tree article is really great, I'd never heard those short clips you mentioned (and forgot about "Move Out", still sounds pretty cool)
you did, however, get me pretty excited at first. given the date on that video I thought these were newly unearthed snippets, like preview clips you get on iTunes, that had been leaked from some upcoming reissue! didn't realise they were from a guy trying to sell the tapes in 1996!
U2 releasing a new album in the middle of a tour of an old album would be the most late era U2 thing ever.
Maybe it's the concert version of forcing the album onto your iPhone.
You came for the Joshua Tree but ha HA!!! New album fuckers!
Nah, it's pretty out thereIt would not be the most out there theory ever. SOE is supposed to be in response to the newfound fame/success that came from JT.
