I will neither confirm nor deny whether or not Senor Mofo and I appear to be on the same wavelength at this moment.

I, for one, welcome our new Socialist Communist Totaliarian Maoist Kenyan Muslim .....

.... oh forget it, I'm just all tired now.

I need a good backpack anyway, but definitely need a good one for my trip. I don't even want to think about how I'm going to "pack light" for 9ish days. I'm not a bad overpacker, but yeesh.

I cleaned out my Facebook friends, deleting people I knew way back in the day in college or high school and haven't spoken with, not even a "hello!" after adding them as a friend.

I included this one gal I know from my old X-Files fandom days who's very sweet, but so freaking annoying. I had her hidden, but deleted her anyway.

I immediately got a message asking if she'd done something to upset or offend her. *sigh* So I said "whoops, sorry! har har." I would have felt worse ignoring her, so a small white lie was better.

Ugh, she responded and said "I wish Facebook sent a message when someone deleted you, like LiveJournal does. I'd like to know." Why, so you can enjoy getting all upset about it?

I'm very glad I learned a while back that a "friend" on the internet is not necessarily a "friend" in real life. Sometimes, yes, but that's a dangerous assumption to make.

And now she says "Hey, where's your wall?" Uh, you're not on my filter to see it, but now apparently I have to put you on that list so you can. I wouldn't care so much, but I do still run a little bit with the old crowd and we have mutual internet "friends." I don't want to cause drama.

Isn't my life so damned hard?

This will be my view tomorrow afternoon:

Ohhhhh wooooooow.

My parents are decidedly less than thrilled that I'm going alone. My dad thought I was playing an April Fool's joke.

They have time to get used to the idea, and I reassured them as much as I could, but if this causes a lot of angst within our relationship, that's going to be awful.

My mom seems slightly more on board than my dad, although that's probably because she knows there's nothing she can say to talk me out of it. My dad thinks I'm going to be harrassed/attacked with anti-Americanism, or blown up by the Catholic/Protestant troubles. (I refrained from laughing at that.)

Then he talked about a news story about a rancher being killed by the Arizona border. Yes, dad, I could be killed by random violence outside my own apartment building - I'm not going ot let that stop me from doing shit I want to do.

Oh dear.

You're too old for this to be a major issue. It's not like if you went with a friend that the friend would be Jack fucking Bauer, you know?
