I'm just not getting tired of NLOTH in the same way as I have never tired of Zooropa. It has 4 of U2's best ever studio recordings on it in the form of Moment of Surrender, Unknown Caller, Fez-Being Born and Cedars Of Lebanon.

I can barely listen to the Joshua Tree anymore. It bores the hell out of me.

Roll on Songs of Ascent...

can't you measure the quality of an album by the songs themselves though? Even if I found JT to be a boring album, I still couldn't rank it that low because it's a brilliant record, regardless of how "into it" I am at any given time....

I was about to register my shock at your feelings towards TJT, then I saw that you put Passengers as fifth on your list...RESPECT!

Well I was feeling a bit grumpy towards The Joshua Tree that day I must admit! Realistically I'd probably have it at #5 just above Passengers in the list if I was going purely on my perceived quality of the album, songs etc. My top 4 would definitely remain the same though...

Personally though, I love all of U2s albums almost equally so ranking them is a pretty pointless exercise! I guess I've really listed them in the order of how often I get the urge to listen to them.... And at since the moment it was released I just can't stop listening to NLOTH...

IT's so hard to make a list like this... I love every album for a different reason. Anyway:

  1. Achtung Baby
  2. Boy
  3. The Joshua Tree
  4. No Line On The Horizon
  5. Zooropa
  6. Pop
  7. The Unforgettable Fire
  8. All That You Can't Leave Behind
  9. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
  10. War
  11. October
  12. Rattle & Hum

No Line has moved into that category of U2 albums that will be in my memory forever.
The Joshua Tree and AB are completly etched in my soul. The Unfogetable Fire sends me to a place I dont want to come back from.
No Line has somehow done all these things in a completly differently way and moved into that supernatural of places that it's impossible to choose what the best is.
If Bono and The Edge are right and they haven't done their best, are we going to be able to handle it.
I'm going to have no choice but to leave the planet when that happens:up:
