take a chance on a song like that for a single why don't you

it would have been a cool 5th single for ATYCLB. they were so big in 2001 that they probably could have released "Grace" and the general public would have gone all  over it.

gosh, how times have changed. now, Magnificent doesn't even do well on the radio? i blame stupid people more than U2, i'll tell you that.

Boy
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
All That You Can't Leave Behind
October
Pop
Rattle and Hum

Passengers

It's painful to put any of them low, since they all mean a lot to me and are so very different, I still love Pop and R/H but they weren't completed ideas, ATYCLB and HTDAAB slip down because of what they could have been (October is in that same vein, different era) , but I still enjoy the earnest songwriting they contain. I kind of want to penalize NLOTH for what it could have been as well, but even still it's cohesive and a step in a new direction.

AB isn't as strong as people like to make out...I definitely think NLOTH is better than both AB and JT.

NLOTH still in the top 3 for me together with Zooropa and UF

I have a hard time ranking my top 6, but it is quite apparent to me that my top albums of each decade are JT, AB, and NLOTH. After all these months, I just can't decide if NLOTH is better than UF. These two are deadlocked at 3rd overall.

I'm in the same boat, although I think UF ultimately wins out.

You and I have remarkably similar tastes (except I like War more than you do).

As Morrissey might sing: "Atomic Bomb lovers of the wo-orld / unite and take over!"

We have the same top 3 and bottom album! I'm more into NLOTH, however.

As the dust settles NLOTH has secured itself as a middle ranking U2 album for me, still a remarkable improvement on the previous two records, but still not quite yet there, gives me hope for the next record though.
