I was thinking maybe browneyedtwit.

By the way, did you ever send off that request to get your screen name changed to Inthistowntastic?

Si.

I've been meaning to reply to it. Sicy basically just said that outside of Superthreaders, not enough people would recognise me, and also mentioned the rather more important possibility that if I request such a different name change, then other people would also do it. You know how folks love to follow in my footsteps.

Anyway, it's fair enough. I can live with this. Plus if I did get it, I wouldn't know what to have in my user title.

Only because you're allergic to them!

Anyway, you're right. Edge's catamaran is pretty awesome. Sexiest delay ever.

But I'm quite right, they ARE vomitastic in Axverland! Bring on wall redecoration.

I just wonder how many U2 gigs will be played at beachfronts from the catamaran. It'll be the rich European equivalent of doing a residency at some Vegas casino.

I just hope they try and take the catamaran to Vegas.

I don't really buy that as being a good enough excuse, given BoMac's case. It was only apparent who he was because he kept the same avatar. Sure, it was based on his original screen name, but I'd never seen him called that before. Maybe he was in the Temple Bar, but how's that any different from inthistowntastic not necessarily being immediately recognisable to non-Superthreaders?

I can't say I see the big deal with screen name changes anyway. Most other forums I've visited allow you to change your screen name basically as much as you feel like.

Ah, why am I even writing about this. I have to be automatically wrong.

I think BoMac is excusable, because that seems about as far as I'd get - but as far as I'm concerned, if screenname changes are going to be that insignificant, what's the point in them at all? On practically any other forum I've been to, either the administrator would allow a screenname change on request to just about anything, or you'd be able to manually change your display name and your profile name would be kept intact. The latter I think is a great thing on smaller forums, but it probably wouldn't work as well here. But the former, I thought, was always a given.

Then again, Interference isn't "other forums". Here, you can't edit your own posts and you have to pay thirty ducats for a signature. Almost feels like a tribute to the band this forum is dedicated to, in a way.

Ouch, I need some ice.

I always thought Casino was spelt with two s's. Weird.

No, that's a place in Italy.

Or you're just thinking of the card game by that name.

I wonder what the hell is even in Casino, NSW. Besides, perhaps, a casino. Probably a few bogans and a horse.

Just a quick fly by before I get much needed beauty sleep.

Snippet watch Ax, I thought I heard an On The Road snippet towards the end of All Along The Watchtower from the 4th Point Depot show on Lovetown. Can definitely hear the line 'mad to live' anyway.

I can't say I see what the big deal is if some person in EYKIW who you almost never talk to anyway doesn't instantly recognise your new screen name and thinks you're somebody else. But whatever. I suppose part of it is that unless things have changed recently, profiles can only be viewed by premium members, so your average member can't go to that and realise "oh, this is so-and-so under a new name".

If I can be (backhandedly?) positive for a second, though, at least this place isn't a total rort like U2.com is.

Things have changed. I can view your profile.

Evening all

Danny, how's it going?

Where's the sig quote from? I know I know it, it seems very familiar, but I can't quite place it. Queensland heat is melting my mental faculties.

You're a clever little iPod aren't you. You'll automatically add punctuation and predict words, but you make life tough if I try to use my own punctuation.

Incidentally, I've spotted a problem with an mp3 player that can find it's way onto the internet. It seems to cause unnecessary posting from bed.

Bah, I have the third gig on my iPod but not my fourth. I'll give it a listen once I'm back in Melbourne.

And here I was thinking my iPod automatically scrobbling plays was bad enough.
