I've been meaning to reply to it. Sicy basically just said that outside of Superthreaders, not enough people would recognise me, and also mentioned the rather more important possibility that if I request such a different name change, then other people would also do it. You know how folks love to follow in my footsteps.

Anyway, it's fair enough. I can live with this. Plus if I did get it, I wouldn't know what to have in my user title.

Sure, it was based on his original screen name, but I'd never seen him called that before. Maybe he was in the Temple Bar, but how's that any different from inthistowntastic not necessarily being immediately recognisable to non-Superthreaders?

I can't say I see the big deal with screen name changes anyway. Most other forums I've visited allow you to change your screen name basically as much as you feel like.

On practically any other forum I've been to, either the administrator would allow a screenname change on request to just about anything, or you'd be able to manually change your display name and your profile name would be kept intact. The latter I think is a great thing on smaller forums, but it probably wouldn't work as well here. But the former, I thought, was always a given.

Then again, Interference isn't "other forums". Here, you can't edit your own posts and you have to pay thirty ducats for a signature. Almost feels like a tribute to the band this forum is dedicated to, in a way.
