We know each other?s avatars and sigs by heart, share jokes, go off on tangents together, but how well do we really know our fellow Interferencers? To help all of us get to know one another a little bit better, we are featuring profiles of board members.
This installment features Forum Super Moderator Salome.
What is your real name and screen name?
Johan / Salome
What's the story behind your screen name?
It's such a fun song, the word sounds good and it adds a much needed feminine touch to my rugged exterior
Why did you join Interference?
This forum seemed like a magnet to U2 fanatics so I definitely wanted to be a part of it.
When did you join Interference?
July 5, 2000
How many hours a day or week do you spend on Interference?
On a yearly average, still about two hours per day, I fear to admit.
What are some of your favorite Interference haunts?
It's Official, Bang & Clatter and Viva le Feedback to hang with the other Dutchies.
Why did you want to become a moderator?
I believe only Sicy and AchtungBebe were mods back then and I wanted to help out since I was on the forum a lot anyway.
What's your favorite thing about being a moderator?
Getting to talk about the forum with other moderators.
What is your earliest memory of U2?
"Sunday Bloody Sunday" on TV.
When did you first consider yourself a U2 fan?
After "Rattle & Hum" but before "Achtung Baby" was released.
Why are you a U2 fan?
U2 goes beyond music; they are my favourite band because they're U2, which might make no sense to anyone but me.
What is your favorite U2 moment?
MacPhisto singing "With or Without You" on the Zoomerang video. The entire Elevation show I went to also was sheer magic though and thanks to U2 I've met some of the greatest Internet people ever.
Are there any lessons or insights you've gained from the band and its music, or is there a tough time that U2 helped you get through?
Be all that you can be.
Do you have a U2 dream or fantasy?
Hmm, not really, perhaps following them on tour through the States one day.
What is your favorite U2 song, album and video?
Song: "A Sort of Homecoming"
Album: "Unforgettable Fire"
Video: "Lemon"
