Okay. Hopefully this will be a fun thing, and not turn into a raging flame war. :sexywink:

From each U2 album (I'm not counting the mini-albums like Blood Red Sky or Wide Awake), choose one song that gets booted off. For some albums, this might be easy -- most of us probably have an "Ugh, I always skip that one" reaction to one song or another.

But for your favorite U2 album, it might not be an easy choice. It might be like cutting off an arm! But death is not an option -- you must choose, even if you love them all.

Here are mine:

Boy - The Ocean

October - Scarlet

War - Red Light (this is one of the few U2 songs that just bugs the bejeezus out of me)

Unforgettable Fire - 4th of July (if the rule was "instrumentals don't count," I'd go with Promenade)

Joshua Tree - Trip Through Your Wires (I dunno ... I might prefer losing a pinky toe than cutting a song off JT)

Rattle and Hum - Hawkmoon 269 (I like Bono's low voice at the beginning, but the song wears out its welcome quickly)

Achtung Baby - Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World (even tougher than the JT choice)

Zooropa - Some Days Are Better Than Others

Pop - The Playboy Mansion

ATYCLB - Grace

same here. boy isn't my favourite album, although it's up there. however, it's the only album that doesn't have any tracks that make me go "eh."

in some instances, i picked the ones i did because they're overplayed. in other cases, it's just because i don't like it. however, there's not really a song on boy that i don't like.

Boy - Into the Heart
October - Scarlet
War - Red Light (I really like this song though, i love the whole war album)
Unforgettable Fire - Elvis Presely and America
Joshua Tree - Red Hill Mining Town
Achtung Baby - Until the End of the World...*runs and hides*
Zooropa - The Wanderer
Pop - Miami
ATYCLB - When I look at the World

Boy - The Ocean

October - Is That All?

War - Red Light (almost tied with The Refugee, though I like both songs)

The Unforgettable Fire - MLK (if one would have to go)

Joshua Tree - In God's Country

Rattle and Hum - All along The Watchtower

Achtung Baby - Ultra Violet (though Trying to throw and Even better are a close # 2 and 3)

Zooropa - Some Days Are Better Than Others

Pop - The Playboy Mansion (I dislike this one just a tad more than If God would ...)

ATYCLB - New York

I'll only deal with the albums of which I'm completely familiar.

The Unforgettable Fire: "Promenade"

The Joshua Tree: "Trip Thru Your Wires"

Rattle and Hum: "Love Rescue Me"

Achtung Baby: "Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World"

Zooropa: "Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car"

Pop: "Miami"

All That You Can't Leave Behind: "Peace on Earth"

The Joshua Tree: Even tougher...In God's Country, I guess.
Rattle and Hum: Freedom For My People.
Achtung Baby: Zoo Station.
Zooropa: Some Days Are Better Than Others.
Pop: Wake Up, Dead Man (don't get me wrong, though, I do like this song...).
All That You Can't Leave Behind: New York.

Joshua Tree- Exit (same excuse as Bad)

Zooropa- The wanderer
Passengers- Everything except Slug, Blue room and Sarajevo! ;)
Pop- Discotheque
ATYCLB- New York
1980s Bsides album- Luminous times

ATYCLB - the ground beneath her feet (if that doesn?t count - wild honey)

No, no, no! I LOVE Van Diemen's Land too!

last night....er...i mean, early this morning i had a radio shift to finish up my dj training so i can get my own show for the spring semester, and at one point i decided that it would be fun to try to play something on vinyl instead of cd...so i put on rattle and hum and played van dieman's land...it was really cool, all the vinyl crakling sounds, guitar, edge's voice...it was awesome!! oh and i had the moniters up really loud...
