I've seen a lot of quotes from OOTS that mention the following:
Some things you shouldn't get too good at/Like smiling, crying, and celebrity
However, I think that's wrong. I was listening to the song earlier, and focused on the lyrics for the first time in ages, and maybe it's been noted before, but rather than Bono simply enunciating badly and skipping the 'b' of 'celebrity', he's actually singing:
Some things you shouldn't get too good at/Like smiling, crining, and celerity
I just listened to the bootleg from the Brooklyn Bridge show and Bono sounds to definitely say 'celerity' rather than 'celebrity', despite what I see quoted regularly. 'Celerity' is defined as being swiftness, quickness, rapidity of movement. I think it makes more sense in the context of the song than 'celebrity'.
Has this already been noted and I'm just thinking of out-of-date quotes? Or am I going mad?
