Oh that's an old GIF from when they did Letterman back during NLOTH's premiere. It was a taped bit where David Letterman joked that the band wasn't going to get the gig and they were being sent home. Was quite funny. I just love Larry's drumstick throwing.

Could be them just goofing around, but I would think that Edge would be at least be trying to zone in on an actual melody than just skittering around like that.

I would be worried if they thought this was something worth pursuing.

It sounds like a generic U2 loop created for Garageband or something.

I don't understand why people were shaving 10 months off of the "time between albums" discussion before, as if the Vertigo Tour wasn't also delayed a significant amount of time as well.

If 'a lot of recording' is really being done, I'd bet on November like Registered Dude. With big positivity.

According to Adam, they're at the end of the recording. So even if they've not mixed a single track (unlikely knowing Edge), they could STILL have the process done fairly quickly.

Mixing and production is something that can be knocked out in days when needed.

Even IF they manage to finish recording during summer, the release won't happen before an additonal 2-3 months period .. so October/November would be a realistic timeframe .. and I'm talking 2014 .. just to follow your optimism!

I was ready to scoff at that linked video, but yeah, it does sound a lot like U2, or at least like The Edge. But I agree with those who say that it almost sounds TOO MUCH like U2 to be legit.

Okay, if it sounds too much like U2 then will people be calling it U2 by numbers if it is indeed fleshed out and in the album? I am not sure I want it to be real in that case.
But I do agree with whoever said that it seems like a mix of 90s U2 and pre 1983 U2. That also goes with their stated desire to mine their early days for inspiration in this album. The fanboy in me wants this to be real because edge seems to be back where he belongs: driving the car.
Also, and I may be completely wrong and this may be a cruel joke on youtube, the guitar seems to be genuine edge.

I've said it from the first couple of listens. There's a couple parts that sound like legitimate Edge. One is around 2:35 and the other seems to be around 2:42. I'd have to check my earlier posts for exacts.

I really do hope this ends up being something that comes out on the album. It's got a very 90s feel to it. I'm normally the sort to dismiss all the "LEAKED PROMO" vids, but this one just stands out for some reason.

I'm not sure how anything actually gets "leaked" these days.....No one in the band is carrying around CD's that "get lost" or "misplaced" everything is mp3's on your phone or whatever device, so the chance of something physically getting stolen is really not possible, unless someone that works in that studio ripped an mp3 of this and decided to put it on youtube???? No way.....guy would be fired instantly.

If it's real it was "leaked" on purpose by the band to gauge reaction.

The only reason why I given it a shred of a chance to be real is because it was posted a month ago and nobody noticed until just now...whereas classic trolling usually involves drawing attention to it immediately.

All that said, in all likelihood it's still a fake.
