Regarding Larry in the Alarm tribute video. When has Larry looked consistantly happy at any point in U2's career? Almost never. He is a semi-shy guy with an attitude. He always has been. At least they are still all together. They all did not have to be there to do that tribute.

This and guy could be having a bad day. No telling.

But he's in the studio w/ the other 3. And as far as what Edge & Bono have said their finishing the album. If anything this could be typical U2 recording behavior.

We've read for years about these guys fighting and nearly quitting during recording sessions. In album's past we weren't able to see these things as much & U2 wasn't doing mini promos (OL & Invisible).

Long time since I have posted here but my thoughts on the Tribute video is that both Larry and Adam are not much for singing and neither have their instruments which put them out of their comfort zone. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on how they acted. Both were put in the background by having this a guitar and singing vid. Neither were in the comfort zone and both are rather shy.

I have to say, I was filled with complete optimism back in January/February, but now...:p

I come here everyday to see if anything has happened, that I somehow may have missed, but...nope....nothing. Is this the worst time to be a U2 fan...

WTF?

My best time being a U2 Fan was From Zooropa to POP, I closely missed Zoo-TV live
Passengers was interesting ... Hold Me was a great soundtrack song .. POP made me happy

I don't consider U2 to be my favourite band right now - a band not existent ..

I'm usually not in the speculation/theory group around here but I actually wonder if Larry's back issues have escalated and maybe he's in pain. I think every performance we've seen going back to the SBS on the rooftop he's been standing, and on the tonight show he awkwardly perched himself on the back of the couch. IDK

Man that is actually a pretty good observation.

Yeah, the minute he was shown standing up for literally ever performance in 2014, I thought that as well.

Does Larry look much different in the Mark Peters thing from here 28 years ago? U2 - Lost Highway (The Tube 1987) - YouTube It's almost the exact same scene: Bono working it so hard he satirizes his own charm, Edge being an earnest good sport aware of the silliness, Adam bemused but going along, and Larry looking like his granny pushed him up there and dusted off his tie just before the camera went on.

Bono was in the Caribbean last week and Edge in California

The Bono in the Caribbean thing turned out to be an old photo... or at least, I think I read that.

dunno why it matters.. or why I care. do I care? I dunno.

Re: the Mike Peters video, yes, Larry looks totally pissed, but in all honesty it doesn't look like any of them are thrilled to be in the same room together. Bono tries hard as always but even his smile seems forced. Maybe it's just age, but they all look totally stressed out to me.

Well at least Mike Peters was happy

Time to break out the german doctor again? We can have a bionic Bono and Larry!

Take your well thought out and reasonable logic elsewhere. There is no room for you at this Inn.

What, they can't get Bono's magic German back fixer upper guy to fix Larry as well?

(In case it's not clear, I don't know shit about back injuries/problems.)

I've heard the rift in the band is not an artistic one, but one over healthcare philosophies. Bono believes in high tech implants, Edge is a little more conventional, Larry is going the holistic route, and Adam tried to get him a medical marijuana script.

Now I don't know all the details about this situation..but I'd think Edge with his yoga routine would be more into holistic methods whereas Larry seems pretty pragmatic and would prefer conventional treatments.

See? Now you see why this is probably the worst rift the bands had...

Even though my crystal ball says that there not be another album I do still think there will be another tour.

Better shitcan the crystal ball, dude. Do you honestly think that after all the time and effort that U2 has put into the making of this album, that they're gonna wuss out and not release one? Sure, it's taking longer than expected, but there will be a new album at some point.
