MG posted a lot back in the early days. And then he created an alter to try and feign insider knowledge (humorously) And basically he gave up. And then he admitted who he was. Then he edited his post or something, fuck if I remember, but he kept playing his game and getting people to go along. Then occasionally someone like me would tell people he wasn't a real insider. Half of them would say "oh, we know" and continue to ask him questions (WTF?) and the other would just ignore it. All the while awaiting his return

Cut to years later - and three tour cycles and at least two album cycles, suddenly he's supposed to be an "insider". Although he never explicitly claims to be an insider. He just 'predicts' shit in a cutesy way.

I have no problem with MG and it's all done in humor (for most people, I think...?) but at some point, enough with this shit.

The only "insider" information ever posted in this fucking place came from the user named "Ignoreland" and he got run off by cynics.

I knew it wasn't real, but it was fun to pretend.

This is ridiculous. The parody tracklist has gotten out of control 47 pages ago and has spread to other fan forums. When I first saw the "Manhattan" tracklist post, I chuckled... and kept scrolling. There are really people here who take it so seriously?! It was clearly a joke. And even those who know that are still picking it to pieces like it's the real album. Every time I start to think that this inanity is finally going to be dropped, it returns again in full force.

There are a lot of people on this forum who are naïve, shelterered, people with little or no sense of humor, etc. Or they're so obsessed with the band they have to make a mountain out of every molehill. It's what I said in another sub-forum the other day, a post which VonSchtoopid felt the need to re-broadcast here (though I couldn't have cared less), and it makes reading WTAHNN a bit of a headache at times. The signal to noise ratio is just terribly low, especially in these "calm before the storm" periods. Everyone is looking for news, and when they don't see anything legitimate, they still feel this reflexive need to chime in with empty speculation, or make tired jokes that haven't been funny in years ("maybe...we'll see", "Edge on fire", etc.).

So sadly it's not a surprise that some are gullible enough to believe any idiocy posted here, however obviously fraudulent it may appear to the rest of us. Or that they're compelled to comment on it/dissect it.

As you said, it should have been scrolled past or ridiculed and that's about it.
