Working title = "Ten Reasons to Exist"?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I'd guess Spring too, unless they do a small promo tour in the Winter. A few bands who released albums in Sept '12 did that, Muse, The Killlers, Green Day (scheduled). They could do a few arena shows in Europe or the US. Or they could surprise everyone and go to the Southern Hemisphere first.

Where did Larry say anything?

That's true, we'll have to wait until the interview on Saturday to hear it from his mouth. Some lady just tweeted that he said that.

Just like 2 weeks ago, some other lady tweeted that she knew the title of U2's next album.

Don't get too excited yet, it may be something taken out of context, or just a flat out lie to promote the interview.

She never said that she did. All she said was, "Want to know the name of the U2 album?" Of course we do. But she never said she knew it either. I don't see why people are worked up over her alleged lying. She never promised anything.

Good news though I kind of wish the working title was 'Twelve Reasons to Exist'

I feel like 12 is a good number. Anything more is gravy. 11 is passable. 10 or less is just doing the bare minimum (unless you're doing a quick Zooropa-like album). 10 song albums was the standard back in the cassette era, and if you were lucky you got 11 songs. This was due to lack of available tape space on the standard cassette.

I feel like an album should be roughly an hour in length, especially if a band only released one every 4 years.

If it's 10 great songs I don't mind! Leaving the audience wanting more is better than nitpicking 3 middle tracks and wishing the album were smaller.

I don't mind the odd remix, but b-sides and original content win out every time.

I'm hoping each single has a Fish Out of Water remix, and an original b-side.

This Saturday on @DaveFanningShow on 2fm, Larry Mullen Jnr tells Dave U2 aiming to have new album released by September. #2fm #U2

I refuse to believe that this is correct. It's must be a Larry imitator or something pretending to announce that the album will be called "10 Reasons for Bono to FOAD".

she mentioned it again in another article a few days later and claimed it was "Ten Reasons to Exist" - it wasn't a question of lying, it just looks like a misunderstanding (unless, obviously, the album IS called Ten Reasons to Exist lol)

First fan recordings emerging in the next 3 months from Dublin, I suppose,
new beach Clips coming up in spring/summer from France. IF the album will indeed be released in September/October, there might be an arena tour in winter/spring :hmm:

Let's just stay positive here, shall we :)

Would be nice to have an app download via iTunes a few weeks in advance of mp3 downloads and physical album availability. A good revenue stream for the band all the while restricting mass availability of mp3s on torrent sites. Thinking outside of the box is a good thing.

We all know that Bono LIES or atleast speculates too much, but when Larry says something like new album in 9/2013, that says something, only 8 more months and the leaking and the market machine will start before that so we are getting close!!!!

We were bitching about her before we saw that article. But as for that statement itself, yeah, that was just odd - but not so much that she claimed that was the title than that she believed the reports at all. (Unless she's doing so defensively, to cover up, however weakly, the "lying" she was accused of.)

Yeah, i think by may/june, we'll be getting teasers of new info, and by july there should be significant marketing starting up (magazine interviews, album descriptions, promo photographs, website overhaul... hell, maybe even a summer single if the album comes in september instead of november - although a delay to the latter is probably likely).

That is, unless they go for a surprise release like radiohead and bowie. After all, they have been uncharacteristically quiet about the next album, but then again that could easily change as the year progresses...

and this was just tweeted:
