Holy shit ::shocked:

That was fantastic. If they rehearse a bit more and perfect that, it very well may become the best live version of the song (and the best opener on 360).

Also, this song has found it's home on this stage.

LOOK AT THE CLAW DURING THE SONG
:drool::drool::drool:

And another good sign: The band looked like they were all having a BLAST playing this gem.

Hmmmm they could also have a new mix for magnificent in the works, from willies diary:

There are several new show ideas in the works, six of which were on the agenda for the afternoon's discussion. The most precious to me are the remixes of Magnificent and Even Better Than the Real Thing, and I was a little concerned to realise that I've actually fallen in love with these mixes, especially Real Thing which is just mega. This is always a dangerous position to put yourself in, as heartbreak awaits if things don’t go well at the meeting.

Reading that just made me so very happy! I really hope we get this in NA.

Loved watching that, great to see the boys throwing in a classic from Achtung.

Would love The Edge to actually play the intro on the whammy pedal....

We're all gonna be so disappointed come the next show if Beautiful Day is back as the opener :reject:

I know, I really think they'll keep it as the new official intro. Like Edge25 said they all look like their having a great time playing it. And the crowd was going crazy!!

WTF were they thinking having Breathe as the opener? I love Breathe but put it towards the end of the set and give this stage the songs it deserves.....90's!!!

Oh my God!

The first time, I wasn't here for the setlist party (sleeping like a baby) and they open with EBTTRT.

Did you have sound, did the party explode??? I'll have to find the page right now, no I need to watch it... or :panic: :happydance:

They've revamped every Achtung song played on this tour and I just love it!

Even if they neutered Mysterious Ways a bit...but it's still an amazing song live!

Would love them to bring back The Fly though! Hopefully by the NA leg we'll have one more AB song in the set!

The dose of Achtung reminds me of Chicago #4 from the Elevation tour. Perhaps the only post Lovetown show where they decided the shuffle the setlist for a single night.

Elevation
The Fly
Even Better Than the Real Thing
Mysterious Ways/Sexual Healing
One/Wake Up Dead Man
Until the End of the World
New Year's Day
Stuck in a Moment
Kite
New York
I Will Follow
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Sweetest Thing
Angel of Harlem
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
All I Want Is You
Where the Streets Have No Name
Pride
-------------
Bullet the Blue Sky/Young Americans
With or Without You
Beautiful Day
I Remember You
Walk On

unfortunately. No. There was no live audio last night.

I think the intro is slightly different on One, and there's a little bit of a quiet section that's longer than usual after the guitar solo on End of the World.

Minor tweaks, unless there's other stuff I'm missing. Which is entirely possible.

Yeah, but I'd hardly call that a revamping. they did the little longer breakdown for a bit on Popmart for End of the World.

Even better - yeah, that's a revamping.

Opening with EBTTRT is defiantly one of, if not, the best decision they've made all tour regarding the setlist. Didn't realise how good the lighting on the claw was for the song until i watched that video from the stands posted above. As someone rightly mentioned, making full use of the claw and its possibilities. If only they could bring out more of it in songs like Beautiful Day, Elevation ect, where the lighting is rather bland/boring.

A brilliant performance of EBTTRT though, and finally, an opening to the tour that actually feels like a typical opening to a U2 concert. Breathe lacked the energy, and Beautiful Day didn't really do it for me, but the energy, passion, lighting is all there for EBTTRT. The only fault i have, is Space Oddity. There should be something far more exciting whilst the band walks out into the stadium/onto stage. I remember on Elevation tour, the remix whilst the band entered the stage was just 100% perfect regarding building the tension and excitement.
