^ especially given the wording in the latest u2.com email - that the moncton show will be the last of THE NORTH AMERICAN leg, not the whole tour....

Could mean more european shows... or could be a way to soften the blow to those who bought pittsburgh tickets, which has now been relabeled as the last US show, instead of last 360 show.

was it ever labeled last 360 show? I thought it had only been labeled last North American show

Hot on the heels of a sold-out European tour, U2 have confirmed that the final date on next year's rescheduled 360° tour will take place on Tuesday, July 26th in Pittsburgh at Heinz Field.

With shows coming up this year in New Zealand and Australia, U2 360° will start-up again in 2011 with a visit to Mexico City in May before returning to North America.

Tickets for this newly announced show in Pittsburgh ($30, $55, $95 & $250) go on sale this coming Monday, Oct. 18th, at 10 a.m. via livenation.com , all Ticketmaster outlets or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000. (All tickets subject to applicable ticketing fees.)

But U2.com subscribers can enter a special advance presale for tickets beginning this Thursday, October 14th (10am) and running until Saturday, October 16th (at 3pm).

Subscribers will be emailed ahead of this presale with details of timings.

If you're interested in becoming a U2.com subscriber and entering the ticket presales, here's all the details you need - including news of 'U2:Duals'. This is a limited edition CD, not for sale at retail, featuring U2 collaborations with other artists.

See you on the road....

best wishes
The U2.com Team

yea, they said it would be the last show of the 360 tour.

Awesome news! However, isn't Lady Gaga's new album going to be released in late May? I can't see U2 releasing their album the same time Gaga does. Just sayin.

I could see them trying to avoid the same exact release date, but I don't think U2 is going to back off of "late May" just because of that.

But anyway, if her album comes out May 23rd (and Tuesday the 24th in America, because we're weird like that), and the Amazon listing for that U2 album says Friday May 27th for those European countries, then I would guess that the US release for that possibly-maybe U2 album might be the following Tuesday, May 31.

With the Europe-Friday release dates, does the US release date typically follow it, or precede it?

I think Born This Way comes out May 23rd, but despite U2's desire for sales, do you really think they're going to back away from a date just because another big artist has a release that day? I don't.

I think with No Line, it was coming out the last week of February in some places in Europe, so the US release date followed it. I think.

if they thought there was/is even a remote chance that they'll add dates on to the end of the tour, then they shouldn't announce it as "the last show," be it of a leg, a tour or whatever. people plan around the final show of a tour... they get a little peeved when they spend a bunch of money to be at the last show, and then it isn't the last show anymore.

hey, I don't disagree with that. they probably worded it that way intentionally so that they could tack on dates if need be, point, look and say "hey, we said rescheduled."

I decided not to come back to this thread until February since checking it almost every day and having no news was getting frustrating. The listing on Amazon.de is a good start; hopefully we will see more retail sites post listings over the next few weeks. Amazon is pretty dependable with these things, aren't they?

NLOTH was released in the US after Europe, so it would probably be May 31 for the next one if Europe's release date really is May 27.

Is Moncton a festival show, like Glastonbury, ie without the Claw ? Then Pittsburgh is the last 360 show ...

Good to see Amazon with this date, hopefully news about a single should come soon.

“The Moncton show is set to be the final date of the U2 360° Tour in North America and we're really looking forward to bringing this now legendary 360 production into Atlantic Canada for the first time” says U2’s manager Paul McGuinness.

It's being marketed as a show on the 360 tour.

If it's May 27, we'll probably be hearing a single by early April.. and a leaked album not long after that.. :hyper:

Ok, but Pittsburgh is still the last US show...

I'm surprised Rolling Stone even cares, since they're a political magazine now.

WTF is going on with the entertainment media these days? Rolling Stone quotes Paste Magazine who quotes @U2.com who is speculating on the probability that a release date posted on Amazon.de is correct?

Aren't there any reporters with actual sources anymore?

U2tour.de says McGuiness, at a music fair/exhibition called Midem, said there will be a new U2 album before the new US dates in May, and that it is pretty much done. U2 is in the south of France, putting the final touches on the material, with Danger Mouse producing.

EXCELLENT FIND :hyper:
Also, i'm happy to see the album will have a chance to be promoted before the US dates... i thought that was a better idea that the 27th!

I'm starting to get excited. Everything seems to be falling into place.

Yeah, this is the first time that a reliable source (i.e. the band or people working for the band) has stayed consistent over a period of a few months - before october 2010, everyone was making a date, then the next time we'd hear from them, they'd have pushed it back until the next summer...
... but now, Paul McGuiness is confirming what he said at the end of 2010 about getting the album ready for may :D
