Please vote for your LEAST FAVOURITE song.

Welcome to the ninth and last round for How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb in Best Song Survivor! The object of this game is to find Interference's favourite U2 song. To do so, songs will be eliminated album-by-album in 24 hour long rounds to leave the favourites to contest a final that will determine the very favourite. The top two songs from this album will proceed to the 2000s semi-final. Only original U2 songs with official studio releases will compete. Due to dominating past tournaments and the inevitable likelihood that they will do the same this time, Where The Streets Have No Name and One are not in the tournament and can be assumed default equal #1 over and above the ultimate winner.

In the penultimate round, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own finally pissed off.

OOTS, piss off.

It's just baffling how anybody could possibly vote for one of the other two choices when something as downright puerile, inane, and saccharine as OOTS is here. I don't know why this song has fans.

Die, OOTS. DIE. You're fucking terrible. I'm too

upset to make witty remarks about how bad you are.

I'm so

upset that you used my phrase in conjunction with anything OTHER than the fact that vertiGO is still here.

Your phrase? Unless you're living a double life as a shabbily-dressed rock star who still borrows makeup from his sisters, that phrase is a Robert Smith original, dear.

Vertigo, to piss Axver off because it's really funny help save my second favorite song on the album.

Seriously, is there anything likeable about OOTS? A single worthwhile quality that justifies listening to it?

No.

You know what's really sad, that I'm just realizing?

I like my second favorite song from Bomb, OOTS, less than every song on NLOTH save Stand Up Comedy (and it's probably close there).

No.

Yes.

Sometimes a song is just enjoyable to listen to. I'm not even going to try to break it down into specific reasons within the song, I just like hearing it. There isn't always a mechanical reason I like a song, sometimes it's just emotional. Obviously the song makes you feel the opposite way, but there's just no explaining why a song appeals to one person and not the next. Which is not a bad thing. In ways OOTS reminds me of IGCIIDGCT which of course a lot of people also don't like, but I do. They are just songs that make me feel good when I hear them.
That is the worthwhile quality for me.

I like OOTS. The music is good. It's just poorly structured (the same thing twice, like Oasis' Morning Glory). I love Edge's guitar on the chorus.

It's a tough choice, but I decided that Vertigo was at least as much puerile, inane and saccharine.

Shame to see SYCMIOYO depart, deserved final three. Original Of The Speeshies.

Vertigo and Cobble - a worthy final two.

One of the big reasons I love OOTS, and always have, is that I envision the song being written for and sung to one of Bono's daughters. This might not even be true at all (it could be about one of Edge's daughters...or shoes or something) but fuck it. The idea of Bono singing those words to his kid lends a real sweetness to the song, for me. And it makes me happy.

t(-_-t)

Anyway, I think I probably will still be voting for it. Tough call here. These are by far my three favorite tracks on this album.
