and to think we have a double shot of U2 in 2009 with a second album...I will be on U2 overload.

In regards to the "career" songs comment. While I agree. I'm not sure any band can really have another "career" song this late in their development, barring a total reinvention like Achtung Baby.

Obviously this album isn't a reinvention, just a righting of the ship.

That being said, there are a lot more MASSIVE songs on this one than I thought there would be.

Crazy Tonight and Stand Up -- these are way better than I expected.

They just release a new album last year and are rumored to come back to the states and tour...

I saw James twice around NYC in the fall of 2008. Transcendent.

Laid and Achtung Baby are my favorite albums so glad to hear another album that comes from that vein.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT MY INITIAL FAVORITE WOULD BE

I'LL GO CRAZY IF I DON'T GO CRAZY TONIGHT?

about halfway thru the album, loving this...

Hey did it come out? or are all you full of shit bullshitters, fucking bullshitting with this bullshit again?

I know that career hits are kind of an unfair standard, but that's what I'd call a 5/5 song. We got a lot of 3/5 and 4/5s, though. I love ATYLCB, and Peace on Earth/Grace sort of drag it down.

NLOTH is consistent. I give it points for that.

Thanks for this, I agree.

Honestly, I have waiting for this album for 17 years. I always hoped that they would make an album on the level of Achtung Baby or Joshua Tree but expressing love for and faith in God as much as doubt in God.
To me this album is a kind of answer to prayer. I'll shut up though. Thanks for the post.

No need to shut up ... the whole point of music is to stir something in us that is unseen but very real. now for another listen

Fucking hell, the beginning of Magnificent is just simply amazing... awesome I am in LOVE.

I am going to be buying all the different versions of this album....because I believe U2 deserves to be #1 with this album :)

NEW @U2 NLOTH LEAKS (AGAIN) ... THIS TIME BY UNIVERSAL AUSTRALIA
February 17, 2009

For the second time this month, an online music store has started prematurely selling No Line On The Horizon. This time, the Universal Music Australia store has made the entire album available as digital downloads, and fans all over the world are buying it up, putting it on file sharing sites, and sending it to friends. The album's out there now; no turning back.

Little did anyone know that NLOTH was also available on the Napster Mobile online store. An @U2 reader found it and bought the album on February 8th; it was available all last week, and finally removed yesterday (Feb. 16).

Everyone seems to love NLOTH. Join the discussion, or just see what they're saying in our forum. Link is below. (Note: no file sharing/trading is allowed in the forum.)

:ohmy::ohmy:

:hyper: Just had to post because I can't believe I'm actually sitting here (should have been asleep a long time ago!) listening to NEW U2 music, and its simply amazing. Its a very good day. :applaud:

I used to hate leaks...I hated the temptation because I liked the anticipation of waiting for THE SPECIFIC RELEASE Day...looking at the linear notes, and smelling the cellephane from the CD.

The great thing, though, is being able to share this with everybody right away. It's like opening a Christmas present with thousands of people. :applaud:
